The Walking Dead’s most exciting new character from The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon is already doomed before season 3 of the spinoff even begins. Daryl Dixon season 3 will be introducing a plethora of new characters as Daryl and Carol’s adventure continues into Spain. As the cast of Daryl Dixon expands, so do opportunities for new stories.
While Daryl Dixon season 2 ended with him and Carol going into the Chunnel to get to the UK from France, the pair are going to end up back on mainland Europe. Doing so, they’ll encounter plenty of new faces in the zombie apocalypse. However, one of these characters seems like they’re going to be doomed from the very beginning.
Carol Seemingly Has A New Love Interest In Daryl Dixon Season 3
Eduardo Noriega’s Character Seems Like He’ll Be Close To Her
The Daryl Dixon season 3 trailer offers some insight into what to expect from the show, including new allies and threats the pair will face. This includes some survivors that interact heavily with them, while also teasing the dangers of Walkers invading a settlement. But one small-scale story also appears to be unfolding for Carol and a newcomer.
In the trailer, a new survivor portrayed by Eduardo Noriega can be seen getting very close to Carol. The way they look at each other signals that he’s going to be her new love interest in season 3. While it’s unconfirmed if this is really the relationship between them, their closeness signals this could very well be the case.
Why Carol’s New Love Interest Probably Won’t Last Very Long
She Has A History Of Losing People She Cares About
Noriega’s character might be doomed considering Carol’s history of losing the people that she loves. From her daughter Sophia to her adopted son Henry, many people have come and gone into her life whom she’s cared for deeply. But many of them have died, leaving her devastated in the process. And it’s something that could easily happen again.
No matter how it happens, Daryl and Carol are also the only focal, long-term characters in the series so far.
She’s also no stranger to losing people she’s in relationships with, even when they don’t die. By the end of The Walking Dead series finale, she was no longer with Ezekiel, whom she’d formed a bond with during the timeskip in season 9. Their drifting apart could easily be mirrored with Noriega’s newcomer should they get romantically involved.
No matter how it happens, Daryl and Carol are also the only focal, long-term characters in the series so far. This makes it even more likely Noriega’s character isn’t going to join them on their travels home, since the show is centered around them as a duo. Despite only just being introduced, Daryl Dixon has already sealed his fate.
