There are just three days to go until Assassin’s Creed Shadows is finally released and the excitement is building for the highly-anticipated feudal Japan-inspired RPG.

Marking the 14th major instalment in the Assassin’s Creed series by Ubisoft, Assassin’s Creed Shadows is set to launch on Thursday and will allow players to dive into feudal Japan with protagonists Naoe and Yasuke.

Despite being bombarded with multiple delays, Shadows is finally almost here and to celebrate, players can get their hands on some free items.

However, there is a catch.

Some of the available in-game items will offer some pretty heavy spoilers and some fans are debating whether it is worth it.

The rewards can be earned via Twitch drops which kick off on 18 March.

However, the only way to earn the drops is to watch content creators steam Assassin’s Creed Shadows in early access, and with the drops needing you to rack up three hours of watch-time, you will be pretty spoiled for the first chunk of the game.

Watching for one hour will see you bag Naoe’s Spirit Headband, watching for two hours earns you Naeo’s Spirit Kosode Gear, and three hours equals Naoe’s Oath Tanto.

Luckily, there is a way to grab these items without being spoiled.

Simply open up a participating Twitch stream from 18 March onwards and leave the stream open in another tab or separate device.

You can mute the stream (make sure to do this in the tab rather than the stream itself) or just lower the volume whilst you get on with other things. Problem solved!

Before watching, however, make sure you link your Ubisoft account to your Twitch in order to redeem those items once you have racked up the watch time.

So, there you have it! Grab some limited-edition items for Naoe and go into Assassin’s Creed Shadows on 20 March absolutely spoiler-free.
