ART THE CLOWN JUST GOT THE ULTIMATE “SCARY MOVIE” ROAST—AND IT’S BRUTAL! 🤡🪓
The first trailer for Scary Movie 6 (2026) just leaked, and they didn’t just parody Terrifier 3—they completely dismantled it! Seeing Art the Clown trying to “work” at the mall while Cindy and Brenda make their legendary return is the chaotic energy we’ve been waiting for since 2001.
The Wayans Brothers are OFFICIALLY back, and no modern horror is safe. From M3GAN’s dance-off to the Scream VI train scene, this is the reboot we deserved. Watch the full trailer breakdown and see the June release date below! 👇🔥

After a thirteen-year hiatus that left a Ghostface-sized hole in the comedy genre, the kings of spoof have officially reclaimed their throne. Paramount Pictures and Miramax have released the first theatrical trailer for Scary Movie 6 (stylized simply as Scary Movie to mock the “requel” trend), and it confirms what fans have whispered for months: Art the Clown is the new primary target.
The reboot marks a historic reunion for the franchise. For the first time since 2001’s Scary Movie 2, Keenen Ivory, Marlon, and Shawn Wayans have returned to write and produce, bringing original stars Anna Faris (Cindy Campbell) and Regina Hall (Brenda Meeks) back into the fold.
Art the Clown Meets the Mall Santa Parody
The standout sequence of the new trailer—currently dominating discussion on Reddit’s r/horror and r/terrifier—is a direct send-up of the notorious mall Santa scene from Terrifier 3. In the parody, a character portraying Art the Clown attempts to maintain his silent, murderous persona while being harassed by a group of sugar-high children and a skeptical Brenda Meeks.
Industry veteran Felissa Rose, a Terrifier 2 alumna, reportedly filmed a cameo for the sequence, which ends with a signature Scary Movie slapstick twist involving a faulty exploding present. “Seeing a character like Art become iconic enough to be roasted by the Wayans is the ultimate ‘you’ve made it’ moment for indie horror,” noted one top commentator on X.
A “Scream” Within a “Scream”
The trailer opens with a meticulous recreation of the Scream VI subway sequence. However, in this version, the tension is undercut when the Ghostface killer is revealed to be wearing a full M3GAN costume underneath his robe, leading into a choreographed dance-off that mocks the viral Blumhouse hit.
Beyond Terrifier and Scream, the trailer confirms a “greatest hits” list of modern horror parodies, including:
The Substance: A joke involving “Ozempic-gone-wrong” transformations.
Smile: A sequence featuring Cindy’s signature wide-eyed confusion in the face of the demonic grin.
Get Out: Shorty Meeks (Marlon Wayans) is seen sinking into a “Sunken Place” that looks suspiciously like a beanbag chair.
Longlegs: A bizarre performance by Chris Elliott, parodying Nicolas Cage’s eccentric serial killer.
The Wayans Factor and R-Rated Ambitions
The return of the Wayans Brothers has shifted the industry’s outlook on the project. While Scary Movie 3 through 5 moved toward a PG-13 rating with diminishing returns, Scary Movie 6 is leaning heavily into its R-rated roots. “We wanted to cancel cancel culture,” Marlon Wayans told Entertainment Weekly during the trailer’s premiere. “Horror has gotten so serious lately; it needs a good punch in the face.”
The film is directed by Michael Tiddes, a frequent Wayans collaborator (A Haunted House), ensuring that the physical comedy and “gross-out” gags that defined the early 2000s are present and accounted for.
Release Date and Theatrical Outlook
Following an overwhelmingly positive reception to the teaser—which played exclusively in theaters ahead of Scream 7 earlier this month—Paramount has moved the release date up. Scary Movie 6 is now scheduled to hit theaters in the United States on June 5, 2026.
As Cindy and Brenda gear up for one more round of supernatural survival, the message to modern horror icons like Art the Clown is clear: you can run, you can hide, but you’re probably going to end up the butt of the joke.
