Following multiple delays, we are just a few weeks away from the release of the next Assassin’s Creed entry and to celebrate, Ubisoft has revealed a way to get extra content on launch.

It has been an eventful run but at long last, Assassin’s Creed Shadows is expected to launch on 20 March and will take players to 16th-century Japan for the first time.

After multiple delays and heaps of discourse, Ubisoft is steaming ahead with its release and if you are one of millions who have plans to pre-order the next Assassin’s Creed entry, then you may get more than what you bargained for.

If you pre-order Assassin’s Creed Shadows ahead of its launch, you will receive its DLC at no extra cost.

As a result, you will have access to the game’s ten-hour Claws of Awaji expansion and extra missions ahead of anybody else.

However, if you are unable to take Ubisoft up on this offer, you will have to wait (and pay) for the DLC when it launches separately later this year.

“In Claws of Awaji, feel the fear of being hunted and under threat on a mysterious island,” the official DLC synopsis reads.

“Reclaim a lost treasure while avoiding the traps and ambushes of deadly new foes. Master the Bō, a new weapon type, unlock new skills, gear, abilities, and get over 10 hours of additional content.”

As mentioned, Claws of Awaji is set to be quite a jam-packed DLC with a new region, weapons, gear, skills and a whole lot of side missions.

Those who have been keeping up with Assassin’s Creed Shadows’ rocky launch period may also remember a time when the game was expected to release alongside an early access period and even a season pass.

Although these have since been cancelled, it is clear that Ubisoft still plans to release them over time and the Claws of Awaji DLC is proof of that.

As for now, there is less than two-months to go until we can finally take to the rooftops of ancient Japan as shinobi Naoe and samurai Yasuke.
