Most of you know Elon Musk as an incredibly successful billionaire CEO of several companies, and in recent times, an influencer on X. But, besides successfully running Tesla, SpaceX, The Boring Company, Neuralink, and other ventures, Musk is apparently also an avid gamer.
You shouldn’t be too surprised as Musk admitted in the past that he loves video games, and he discussed several major titles in the past like ‘Cyberpunk 2077,’ ‘Elden Ring,’ ‘Diablo 4,’ and most recently ‘Path of Exile 2.’
Musk doesn’t just play the games, he owns those games. He claimed to be one of the top players in ‘Diablo 4,’ with his account ranking in the global top 20 for a time. While this was technically true, it raised questions about how he achieved it. If you’re familiar with ‘Diablo 4’ (or any Diablo for that matter) you are likely aware that the main mechanic that this game (and similar games) has is grinding.
Both ‘Diablo’ and ‘Path of Exile’ have a vast loot system where players must repeatedly defeat enemies or complete quests to acquire better equipment. The randomness of loot means players often need to grind to get the perfect items for their builds.
Both games also feature deep endgame content that requires players to continuously improve their characters by grinding for better gear, stats, and resources to handle tougher challenges. It’s quite difficult to figure out how a CEO of several companies managed to find time for that.
Now Elon recently bragged about his ‘Path of Exile 2’ characters with very high levels and powerful gear, which would normally take an enormous amount of time to achieve.
He most certainly did not achieve it and we have evidence to back it up.
Asmongold recently reacted to a video that showcases Elon Musk supposedly playing his god-tier ‘Path of Exile 2’ character. There’s absolutely no way that Musk is behind that account which becomes clear if you are even remotely familiar with the game.
In the clip, Elon (a god-tier player) has trouble entering the map, even though as one of the highest-ranking players in the game he would have to play thousands of maps to get to that point.
His inventory is absolutely filled to the brim with trash that he never gets rid of, but he also fails to collect extremely valuable orb currency.
Elon does not seem to know the difference between level requirements for weapons and the actual level of the item itself, he comments “It’s only a level 62 staff” while referring to an essentially perfect item in-game.
He also fails to understand what kind of role mana plays in the gameplay and “auto-attacks” a boss instead of drinking a mana potion. He refers to armor as a “jacket,” and doesn’t play with any sort of custom loot filter on.
But, my absolute personal favorite moment is when Musk attempts to collect the maps by individually dragging the tiny icons into his inventory. Even the way he does this is reminiscent of someone who does not use the mouse to play games often at all. By our assessment, this was most likely Elon’s third time overall playing that game. As there’s no way you can fail to grasp the basics “at his level.”
Asmongold came to the same conclusion commenting that there’s no way this account isn’t “boosted.” Meaning, that Musk likely paid someone to play the game for him and get him to that god-tier level.
Asmongold has firmly stuck to his belief that Elon Musk didn’t grind ‘Path of Exile’ himself and made a bold offer to the billionaire. He stated, “Did Elon Musk play this account to level 97? The answer is very simple: no. Unequivocally, without a doubt.” Asmongold then challenged Musk, saying, “If Elon Musk can prove that he played this account to 97, I will stream on X [formerly Twitter], starting the day that he proves it, for an entire year straight, every single stream.”
Asmongold further criticized Elon Musk, calling his actions an “ego thing” and a poor decision, believing that people would prefer Musk to be authentic rather than pretending to have a raw skill or grand achievements. The streamer’s offer to stream on X could be a major boost for the platform, as Musk has encouraged creators like Mr. Beast to join. However, Asmongold clarified that he would continue streaming on Twitch as well, not making it an exclusive deal.
