Anthony Mackie is making a grand return in the MCU this time in his first solo ‘Captain America’ movie. This Valentine’s Day Mackie will suit up and face Red Hulk and Serpent Society and kick start the new era of the Avengers.

Despite playing one of the most popular superheroes of today, Mackie admitted that this doesn’t exactly translates well to dating.

Mackie recetly talked about how difficult dating is for actors. He said that being famous makes relationships challenging because it’s hard to know who to trust. He questioned how someone in his position can be vulnerable and truly know if someone likes them for who they are, rather than for their fame.

How do you trust someone? How do you put yourself in a position to be vulnerable? How do you know what someone really [wants] from you when all you want is to just be loved and appreciated? What does that look like?

Anthony Mackie isn’t in a hurry to start dating again, especially since he doesn’t use dating apps. Instead, he enjoys spending time with his four children, whom he shares with his ex-wife, Sheletta Chapital. When he’s not acting, he likes to stay out of the spotlight and relax in his hometown of New Orleans, where he isn’t as easily recognized as he is in Hollywood.

I’m not a big attention person. I appreciate the support. I appreciate the idea of people recognizing me for my work, if nothing else. But social anxiety is a real thing. And because of that, I run away and hide. I go to my places where I know people and they take care of me. And I just sit in the corner and put an umbrella over my head.
