For those yearning for a new Fallout game, you’re not going to receive one any time soon.

As I’m sure you’re aware, Bethesda’s sights are set on The Elder Scrolls VI – a game which has been missing in action since its initial reveal seven years ago.

If there is manpower to spare, it’s perhaps most likely that the studio is working on the second expansion for Starfield that was previously teased.

Beyond that, Bethesda could then turn its attention to Fallout 5, but we’re talking about something that’s likely over five years away, perhaps more.

In the meantime, Prime Video is set to bring us the second season of their Fallout TV adaptation and, of course, Fallout 76 is constantly being updated with new content.

I have something else though that should help satiate your appetite.

This year, Rebellion is set to bring us Atomfall which is perhaps best described as Fallout set in the UK.

Set in 1950s Yorkshire, Atomfall is inspired by the very real Windscale fire which took place in 1957.

In this alternate reality, the nuclear disaster was much more severe, devastating the UK. You awaken as a John Doe, attempting to understand both who you are and the state of your surroundings.

I had the opportunity to go hands-on with Atomfall at last year’s Gamescom and I was very impressed by what I played.

In that preview, I wrote, “Atomfall is incredibly well designed, using stereotypes to create an amusing sense of absurdity that just works so very well. With an intriguing world, easy-to-learn controls and a sterling premise, I feel quite confident that Rebellion has cooked up something very special. Atomfall is one to keep an eye on.”

If this sounds up your alley, you don’t have much longer to wait.

Atomfall is due to launch on 27 March 2025 and I’m already oh so very excited to explore this wacky and wonderful take on the apocalypse.

As are Fallout fans, judging by the response to the game’s latest trailer.

“Cannot wait for this,” wrote Reddit user Particular_Area_7423, while another added, “This game looks to be crazy and I can’t wait.” You and me both.
