Multiplayer Zelda is something Nintendo should revisit

The Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time is still one of the best games ever made, and it only gets better when you play it with a friend.

Personally, I’m more of a fan of Zelda: Majora’s Mask but there’s no denying Ocarina Of Time is a damn fine game, so it’s good that you can play the full thing on Nintendo Switch right now.

You can actually experience the game in a totally different way though, multiplayer, as a new mod lets you play the game with a friend for a unique experience.

We’ve seen multiplayer mods for Nintendo 64 games before like Super Mario 64, which is a good laugh if you’re just looking to mess about and not take the game too seriously.

This mod ups the ante a bit though as it supports up to four players, a bit similar to Nintendo’s official attempt at a multiplayer Zelda game Zelda: Four Swords Adventure.

It does of course mess with the timelines a bit, after all I can’t imagine Zelda would be too impressed seeing four heroes of Hyrule rock up to the castle, nor Ganondorf realising he has to kill four tunic-wearing annoyances rather than just one.

Although it does make your adventuring more efficient to have extra pairs of hands at your disposal, and just a little bit chaotic as well…

If you’re looking to try this out for yourself there are mods out there to make it happen as well as guides on how to get it working. It might take a bit of elbow-grease and technical wizardry but once it’s working it’ll be worth the setup.

Perhaps Nintendo will even try its hand at making another multiplayer Zelda game in the future, just imagine Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom’s map but with multiple Links running and gliding around…
