Tired of playing boring Vanguards? Emma Frost is finally coming to Marvel Rivals, and her abilities will shake the game from the ground up.
Right from its debut last December, Marvel Rivals has done a fantastic job maintaining its success. The hero-shooter is launching its Season 2 on April 11, which is set to bring brand new additions to the game and much more.
One of the newest heroes to debut in Season 2 will be Emma Frost. Her introduction to the hero-shooter has been a long time coming since she was a part of the first leaked roster.

Considering what I’ve seen so far when it comes to Emma Frost’s gameplay, NetEase Games has finally cracked the code when it comes to Vanguards. Seriously, her busted abilities make me want to instant lock her when she releases.

Emma Frost will be the 10th Vanguard in Marvel Rivals‘ roster, and she brings an entire set of abilities to the table that make her unique when compared to other characters. This is mostly done by making her a hybrid tank that’s capable of dealing with threats at a distance or right amid the chaos.
As showcased in Emma Frost’s official release trailer, her primary fire is the Psych Ray, which doesn’t have auto-aim and is lethal in close-quarters combat. She can put a crystal mine on the battlefield that deals damage to nearby enemies and even craft a Psychic Barrier that can block incoming threats.
One of her signature abilities is transforming herself into a crystal. While she’s in this form, she turns into a melee-focused character where her punches can deal lethal damage and knock out enemies in a matter of seconds.
What’s really special is her Ultimate. It’s a psychic assault that can stun enemies and deny them the ability to use their own Ultimates. If the effect remains, it forces opponents to move towards Emma Frost.
As Marvel Rivals players would agree with me, Emma Frost’s arrival seems to be a turning point for Vanguards in the game. Finally, there’s a tank that isn’t strong in just one particular aspect. Emma Frost is incredibly versatile, and her abilities will allow players to do more than soaking damage and blocking choke points.
NetEase Games has made sure that Emma Frost isn’t just a frontline tank, and she’s going to actively shape the fight and the outcome. It’s the kind of thing Vanguard players have been desperate for since the launch of the game, and it’s great to see that developers have finally answered their calls.
Marvel Rivals has a brand-new feature to fix FPS issues

While Marvel Rivals is a smash hit, one problem that I’ve noticed right from its launch is its performance. While the developers have ironed out issues through different patches, FPS drops have remained here, which has hurt the gameplay experience.
However, NetEase is bringing more solutions for the FPS issues in the hero-shooter. As mentioned in the patch notes for Season 2, the developer is bringing a way for PC players to smooth out any frame rate problems. This will be done with a feature called Switch Shader Compilation.
Once this feature is activated, shader compilation will only occur when the hero-shooter is turned on for the first time after an update for the game version or GPU driver is detected.
With Switch Shader Compilation, NetEase hopes to deliver a better experience for PC players who have 16 GB of RAM or less on their systems by evening out memory usage and frame rate issues.
