The God of War franchise is celebrating its 20th anniversary this month and to celebrate, God of War Ragnarök players can get their hands on some epic in-game items.

It has almost been 20 years since the first God of War title was released and introduced fans to the Spartan warrior known as Kratos.

Since God of War was released back in 2005, the series has had something of a reboot in recent years thanks to 2018’s God of War and its sequel God of War Ragnarök.

“Back in 2005 when the first God of War released, no one at Santa Monica Studio anticipated the success this series would have,” the official PlayStation blog post read.

Every creative endeavor carries the hopes of those who shaped it that they might be able to carve a legacy in the industry.

What makes those hopes a reality has always been the support of players who chose to pick up the game and go on a journey with us.”

Now to celebrate its lifespan, Santa Monica Studio has revealed that Ragnarök fans can grab an exciting collection of items in-game and many of the freebies will be familiar to OG fans.

The Dark Odyssey Collection is now available to grab with the update going live for all users across PlayStation and PC.

The items can be found in any Lost Item chest around Ragnarök’s map and includes:

Dark Odyssey Kratos Appearance
Dark Odyssey Armor Set for Kratos (Dark Odyssey Breastplate, Dark Odyssey Bracers, Dark Odyssey Belt)

You can also get the Dark Odyssey Vestment for Atreus, and the Dark Odyssey Witch Frock for Freya as well as various weapon attachments and appearances.

There are also six new shield appearances to choose from and so you can fully deck out Kratos and his allies.

This is one epic collection and it goes live today, 20 March.
