Before Dragon Age: The Veilguard launched, we were warned that there wouldn’t be much post-launch support. This was reaffirmed after launch, with BioWare making it clear there would be no DLC. Still, some held out hope, but any chance of DLC was then quashed by news of the “restructuring” at BioWare, seeing many devs get moved to other EA studios and others lose their jobs altogether.
So, it came as a great surprise when Dragon Age: The Veilguard did get DLC all of a sudden, even if it was only small. Rook’s Weapons Appearance Offer appeared on PC last month, with no announcement, save a post on Steam. The catch? It’s only available before April 9, so you have one more day to pick up these unique weapons.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard Weapon’s DLC Is Available For One More Day
Even if you don’t like the look of it, it’s free, so you might as well
You can see the weapons above. Needless to say, they will not be to everyone’s taste. In fact, many players have found them quite off-putting. But hey, they’re free for anyone playing on PC, so you might as well pick them up if you already have the game.
I say free for anyone on PC because, for some reason, the DLC has not appeared on console at all. With only one more day to go, it seems that PS5 and Xbox Series X/S players won’t be getting the new weapons after all.
After this, we probably shouldn’t expect any other weapons and cosmetics to be added to the game. After the last update, BioWare said that it was moving on to only fixing game-breaking bugs, and that was before the big restructure. The team has also indicated that, for now at least, Dragon Age is done, with one of the writers saying that the series belongs to the fans now.
In any case, what remains of BioWare is moving on to Mass Effect 5.
