Speaking with Vogue, Bailey let slip that he’s finished filming Bridgerton season 4, and that “Everything else is on pause until Richard II opens,” his upcoming theatre role. This indicates that, whichever scenes involve Anthony throughout the upcoming episodes, they’ve already been filmed, despite the season having just been announced back in July. His statement means his current focus is not on the show, raising questions about the show’s current state of production, alongside how big a role he’ll have therein.
What Bailey Wrapping Bridgerton Filming Means For Season 4
Anthony Might Have A Reduced Role
While Bailey has completed production on Bridgerton season 4, it doesn’t necessarily mean that production on the whole season has been finished. Given the upcoming episodes aren’t expected until 2026, it wouldn’t make sense for production to be completed in such a short amount of time. Instead, it’s more likely he’s already filmed his scenes with Anthony in them, potentially alongside Ashley, who previously confirmed her return. However, this puts into question how big his role will be, and how much he’ll actually show up.
If his role is limited, it’s likely to accommodate for his current promotion of Wicked, and likely promotion of Wicked Part Two next year, as well as his place on the cast of Jurassic World Rebirth. These movie projects coupled with his Richard II performance will likely keep his schedule full, meaning it was important to have his scenes filmed as soon as possible. But it could also be a measure of how surprisingly far along filming is, if one of the siblings’ scenes have already been accounted for.
Our Take On Bailey Already Filming His Bridgerton Season 4 Scenes
We’re Probably Not Seeing Much Of Anthony This Time Around
Since Bailey managed to film his scenes within months of season 4 getting announced, it doesn’t sound like Bridgerton‘s newest season is going to feature his character that much. While Anthony showing up is a good sign for his future involvement, the actors’ other projects are seemingly taking a bigger focus than the Netflix series. Even though he’s likely to have his own storyline once again, we don’t think it’s going to be as prominent as previous seasons.
