Cyberpunk 2077 isn’t a difficult game by any means, but you can make it so by stripping away one of the game’s best features.

If anything Cyberpunk 2077 is overwhelming at first, especially with all the cyberware stuff you need to wrap your head around.

Turns out though that if you remove the cyberware completely it dials the game’s difficulty up to 11. Being a normal human in Night City is practically a death sentence.

That’s a lesson MathematicianOk8469 on Reddit learned the hard way, as they recently started a new playthrough on the game’s Hard difficulty with the intention of never giving their character an implant or cybernetic enhancement, aside from the Optics which are forced upon you.

Sounds like a worthy challenge, especially since the enemies in the game have access to cyberware to deal damage or sabotage you during encounters.

Commenters were all for the undertaking though, with one player comically saying the player was “just playing Punk” by neglecting the cyber part of the game.

Another said “I love the idea that in a world of mind hacking, mechanical arms and speedy sandevistans, there is just a regular guy making his way up in the world. That’s MC material right there. Goodluck choom!”

Others said this could make for a very interesting playthough as far as story is concerned, depending on which path the player chooses.

Without going into spoilers the end of the game gives you quite a few options for how you’d like your character’s story to end, and what kind of life they’ll live after the work is done.

Personally I think it’s a really cool idea to have a player character with no cybernetics, housing an AI of a character who arguably went all-in on cybernetics with a metal arm.
