Winning a Grammy seems to be the best award any singer could win. Taylor Swift as 14, Beyoncé has 35, but many amazing artists don’t even have one. You might be surprised which defining voices of the 21st century don’t have a single Grammy to recognise their contribution to music. So, here’s a wild rundown of singers who have never won a Grammy, but definitely should have one.

Katy Perry

Can you BELIEVE Katy Perry, singer of the Teenage Dream album, doesn’t have a Grammy? Teenage Dream was nominated for Album of the Year in 2013 but lost to Random Access Memories by Daft Punk (RED also lost this year). It was fierce competition, but Katy hasn’t ever managed to take a golden stereophone home.

ABBA

It’s pretty shocking that ABBA don’t have a single Grammy, despite being the most iconic group ever. But you know what? At least they have two jukebox musicals about them, and a banging arena.

One Direction

Oh no… One Direction didn’t ever win a Grammy. To be honest, I’m not massively surprised, but I’m super proud of Harry Styles who now has three of them himself!

Bob Marley

Bob Marley is one of music’s pioneers, but was never even nominated for a Grammy, never mind won one. Just goes to show the Grammys aren’t the be all or end all!

Queen

Queen has four nominations but not a single Grammy win. However, the band was eventually awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award in 2018, the same year their album A Night At The Opera was brought into the Grammys Hall Of Fame.

Queen Lana has often sparked outrage by the fact that she doesn’t have a Grammy. She has 11 nominations but has never managed to secure a win which is just not right at all. Somebody get me on the committee ASAP.

BTS

BTS were the first Korean group to be nominated for a Grammy award, but it’s honestly wild that they don’t have one. They literally dominated the world back when they were still together. Maybe a reunion will win them that coveted award?

Nicki Minaj

With 10 nominations but no wins, Nicki Minaj deserves a Grammy for the cultural impact she’s had on music.

In 2019, she accused the Recording Academy of deliberately snubbing her, claiming: “I was bullied into staying quiet for seven years out of fear.”

That’s right, Snoop Dogg doesn’t have a single Grammy! He does have 17 nominations though, which is wild.
