At an early point in Final Fantasy 7 Remake, Tifa asks Cloud for a night out on the town. Then, she suggests that Cloud pick a look for their ‘date.’ You’re given control over this choice, with the three options being ‘Something Mature,’ ‘Something Sporty,’ or ‘Something Exotic.’ It doesn’t seem like a particularly impactful choice, and the date never happens because the party gets a little busy bombing Mako reactors.

But the choice does come back later, and it has a minor effect on how things play out. Before you make this choice, you might want to know the results of each option so you can choose an option based on this. Here’s what this choice impacts and the result of each option.

What Does Tifa’s Outfit Choice Affect?

During the third chapter of Final Fantasy 7 Remake, you will spend quality time with Tifa as Cloud within the Sector 7 Slums. During this chapter, if you complete all the side quests, you will gain access to the ‘Discover: Alone at Last‘ activity, where Tifa will invite Cloud to a night out, asking him a vital question about what her attire should be.

Here, you will be given the choice of three options, which will directly impact what Tifa is wearing at a later point in the game’s story during the ninth chapter when she poses as a bridal candidate for Don Corneo in Wall Market.

Please note that the choice doesn’t impact anything else that happens in the chapter or story, just how Tifa looks during it. The options Cloud has to choose from are:

‘Something Sporty‘
‘Something Exotic’

Each option leads to drastically different visual results. It also prompts a couple of unique lines, both in-the-moment and further into the game, but they’re blink-and-you-miss-it, and never really amount to much. So, no worries on missing any.

You must see all three dresses to achieve the ‘Dressed to the Nines’ Trophy/Achievement. This means you’ll need to do at least three playthroughs, making a different choice each time, and will also have to get all the dress options for Aerith and Cloud as well!
