XO Kitty season two introduced us to some exciting new plot lines and characters which totally shook up Kitty’s already chaotic life. She already has enough to deal with Professor Lee and Alex, and we can’t forget Dae. The devil works hard but the XO Kitty writers work harder. As if Kitty needed any more drama in her life, a new character called Stella transfers to KISS and throws everything into disarray again. However, she’s super mysterious and has a massive secret under wraps. So, here’s an explanation of who Stella, or Esther, actually is in XO Kitty.

Who is Stella/Esther in XO Kitty?

Stella introduces herself in XO, Kitty as Yuri and Juliana’s new KISS roommate. Stella says she has transferred from Ohio on an exchange program through her church. At the end of episode one, Stella explains to Kitty that she wants to ask Min Ho out and Kitty gives Stella Min Ho’s number so that she can ask him out.

Stella receives a text from her mother that reads: “Esther, we’re worried about you. Please come home. You don’t have to do this.” Stella then calls her mother and says: “For the last time, my name is Stella. There is no more Esther and I do have to do this. I’m here to get what I deserve. Now, leave me alone.” What drama…

As the show goes on, Kitty and Juliana suspect that Stella is hiding a secret. Stella begins to date Min Ho and, when Min Ho’s father Mr. Moon starts a program at KISS to find a new K-pop star, Stella wows everyone.

Later, Kitty figures out that Stella really is a girl named Esther who auditioned for one of Mr. Moon’s talent shows in the past. She discovers a video of Mr. Moon rejecting Esther from one of his shows and telling her that she didn’t have “the look” to be a star. Esther replies through tears: “But beauty is supposed to come from within.”

It turns out that the audition went viral online and Esther was so hurt by it that she got plastic surgery. She then came up with a plan to enrol in KISS under a new name and get revenge on Mr. Moon using Min Ho. Whattttt?!!

During the series, Esther puts recording devices in Mr. Moon’s house so she can spy on him and she quickly finds out that his superstar son, Min Ho’s brother, has a secret girlfriend who’s pregnant. She then makes a plan to expose this secret.

When Kitty and Min Ho figure out what Esther is doing, she has to leave the school and go back to the US. It’s all very dramatic and hard to keep up.

Will Stella return for XO Kitty season three?

Audrey Huynh plays the role of Stella or Esther. Given that the show ends with her huge secret being exposed and her moving back to the USA, it’s unlikely she’ll come back for season three. You can bet we’ll be seeing all of our other faves back though!
