Monster Hunter Wilds is full of various weapon types for different players. If you prefer melee combat, you’ll find plenty of different weapon types to suit your taste. However, there’s not much variety in the game when it comes to ranged weapons.
Among the ranged weapons, you’ll find bows. Bows are excellent medium-range weapons that can be a lot of fun to try out. If you have faith in your aim and want to bring down monsters without having to swing your weapon in their face, the following are some of the best bows in the game that you’d definitely want to try out.
7Fearbringer Callistox

Stats:
Attack: 288
Affinity: -5 percent
Element: None
Skills: Stamina Thief [3]
Coatings: Power, Exhaust
Fearbringer Callistox provides a passive bonus of 20 defense when equipped, but its offensive prowess is mediocre at best. Regardless, the weapon truly shines at exhausting enemies.
The Stamina Thief skill and the Exhaust coating can quickly exhaust any monster, allowing you to assault them with your main weapon. While it can be a great secondary weapon, it’s not recommended to use it as your main damage-dealing option.
Singha Sharanga

Stats:
Attack: 276
Affinity: -10 percent
Element: 150 Ice
Skills: Tetrad Shot
Coatings: Close-range, Poison
The Singha Sharanga is an excellent bow that offers a fairly high attack paired with a decent chunk of Ice damage but has negative Affinity, which means that you won’t be landing as many critical hits. There aren’t many monsters in the game that are resistant to ice, so it’s a great element to have on the weapon.
Additionally, the fact that you can use poison coatings with this weapon is a huge plus, as it gives you the option of dealing consistent damage. The Tetrad Shot skill increases the Affinity of coated shots, which makes up a little for the weapon’s negative base Affinity.
Nershock

Stats:
Attack: 252
Affinity: 20 percent
Element: None
Skills: Charge Master [2], Focus [1]
Coatings: Pierce Coating, Poison Coating, Sleep Coating
The Nershock doesn’t feature any element but allows for a variety of coatings to be used with it. The Poison and Sleep Coatings are great if you plan to use this bow as a secondary weapon, but regardless of that, the weapon features a high Affinity, leading to more critical hits.
Furthermore, the Charge Master skill will help you inflict the status effect of your choice a lot quicker than normal. Keep in mind that the low attack of this weapon is going to affect your basic attacks, so it’s best to rely on this weapon for status effects only.
Solar Spicule

Stats:
Attack: 252
Affinity: 15 percent
Element: 150 Fire
Skills: Critical Element [2], Ballistics [1]
Coatings: Power, Blast
Made out of Guardian Rathalos’ materials, the Solar Spicule’s base attack isn’t that high, but the bow makes up for it with 15 percent Affinity, alongside the Critical Element skill that enhances the already high fire elemental damage on critical hits.
Additionally, you can use the Power and Blast coatings with this bow, allowing you to deal additional damage to your targets. You can use decorations and equipment that further boost your Affinity to get the most use out of the Critical Element skill and the weapon’s high base affinity to land critical hits.
Wildwood Kalifa

Stats:
Attack: 264
Affinity: 5 percent
Element: None
Skills: Special Ammo Boost [2], Charge Master [1]
Coatings: Power, Paralysis, Poison, Blast
The Wildwood Kalifa might not feature a high attack, outstanding Affinity, or a strong element attached to it, but the variety of coatings this bow can support makes it one of the good ones, and an excellent secondary weapon.
The Charge Master skill increases the status build-up on charged attacks, so any coating that you’re using will be able to inflict the desired status effect a lot quicker, and then you can switch to your main weapon to deal a ton of damage.
Renowned Tristram

Stats:
Attack: 264
Affinity: 0 percent
Element: Dragon 200
Skills: Focus [3]
Coatings: Pierce
The Renowned Tristram is one of the best bows in the game if you’re looking for straight-up damage. This bow hits hard, and while it lacks affinity, the 200 Dragon damage on top of its already high base attack will make sure your targets don’t last that long in front of you.
The Pierce coating helps your arrows penetrate through monsters that have thick armor, and the Focus skill makes it easy for you to charge your attacks a lot faster. The faster charge attacks, paired with the Pierce coatings, are enough to bring down any monster in the late game.
Verzweiflung

Stats:
Attack: 252
Affinity: 20 percent
Element: Dragon 150
Skills: Critical Element
Coatings: Power, Blast
The Verzweiflun is a complete offensive package with high Affinity and elemental damage paired with the Critical Element skill, but has a little less attack than most other bows. The Power and Blast coatings make up for the lack of attack power, making it a great option if you’re looking for a bow that can bring down any monster.
The Dragon Element goes well with the bow because only a few monsters are resistant to it, and you have the Blast coating as well for additional damage, making it easily one of the best bows to pick in the game. But, to get this weapon, you’ll have to bring down Gore Magala a few times, which is a challenge on its own.
