It is hard to believe that it is coming up to two years since Hogwarts Legacy was released and despite being a single player game, the Avalanche Software RPG is still maintaining a decent player base.
First released in February 2023, Hogwarts Legacy was met with quite a bit of controversy in the lead-up to its launch thanks to the Harry Potter-inspired RPG’s links to author J.K. Rowling.
However, despite its connections, the game was a hit and became the best-selling game of the year with 12 million copies sold in just its first two weeks.
Now almost two years on and the hype has slowly faded out for Hogwarts Legacy but with a sequel reportedly on the way, fans are hoping that Avalanche Software and Warner Bros. will make a number of improvements whilst maintaining the magic.
With Hogwarts Legacy being a single player title, it is hard for it to maintain a solid player base but one reason to return is a sneaky free download that many of us might have missed back in 2023.
Found on the official website under the community tab, players can access seventeen exclusive wallpapers which are available to download for absolutely free.
Ranging from a high-resolution version of the official Hogwarts Legacy cover art, there are also wallpapers featuring areas such as the Forbidden Forest, Hogsmeade, and of course, every nook and cranny from within the castle itself.
We see the Potions classroom, the Common Rooms, the rainy castle grounds and even Hagrid’s Hut.
There are also some wallpapers dedicated to the epic combat from the game which would look perfect as desktop and mobile phone backgrounds.
Of course, new wallpapers are hardly news of a new game but there is no doubt that an epic sequel for Hogwarts Legacy is being cooked up in the background.
