Fox Sports analyst Tom Brady has made creating a power ranking of the top five teams in the NFL a weekly tradition.
For this edition, teams two through five were the Philadelphia Eagles, Buffalo Bills, Detroit Lions, and Minnesota Vikings, with the No. 1 team not being much of a surprise.
Last week, the Lions had the highest spot, but this week, Brady is bestowing that honor upon the Kansas City Chiefs, who are coming off a 21-7 victory over the Cleveland Browns.
“Spags, you got a dominant defense,” he said, referring to Chiefs defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo. “I know you know this. You’re forcing so many turnovers against the Browns last week. I know Patrick suffered an ankle injury in the game. That’s a guy whose toughness is never in doubt. I’m sure he’s going to do everything he can to get back out there against the Texans on a short week.”
Of course, it’s hard to pick against the Chiefs in this scenario. They have the best record in the NFL, 13-1, with their only loss coming to the Bills.
However, their method of winning has come into question. Kansas City has been involved in 10 one-score games this year and miraculously won all of them.

Most of Brady’s reasoning for the Chiefs centered around their defense, which makes sense as they have the fifth-best scoring defense, allowing just 18.5 points per game.
Compared to the offense, which is 12th in the NFL, scoring 23.5 points per game, the defense has become the team’s heart and soul.
It’s an unusual sight because every year from 2017-22, the Chiefs had a top-six scoring offense.
Even Mahomes isn’t having his normal MVP-level year, throwing for 3,348 yards, 22 touchdowns, 11 interceptions, and a 91 passer rating.
