Can you believe that 2025 is almost upon us?
If we’re nearing the end of the year, that must mean we’re nearing the end of the festive break.
I hope that you’ve found time to catch up on your gaming backlog, in addition to enjoying plenty of time with family and friends, of course.
The break isn’t over yet though and while I’m sure your backlog is already piled to the rafters, I did want to take this opportunity to highlight a 2024 title that may have passed you by.
If you’re a fan of Cyberpunk 2077 and L.A Noire, then Critical Hit Games’ Nobody Wants To Die is perhaps a title you should consider checking out imminently.
Released in July of this year, Nobody Wants To Die is a first-person noir thriller set within the city of New York in 2329.
“Immortality comes at a price that someone has to pay,” teases the synopsis.
“In this interactive noir story, lead the investigation using advanced technology, as Detective James Karra who risks it all in pursuit of a serial killer targeting the city’s elite.”
Taking on the role of James, players are tasked with scouring crime scenes for clues whilst using augmentation to reconstruct events.
I have to say, Nobody Wants To Die’s city is the star of the show.
This cyberpunk-esque neon metropolis has been created in Unreal Engine 5 so you can imagine how stunning it is to explore.
Upon release, Nobody Wants To Die secured a respectable score of 78 over on Metacritic.
It fared even better on Steam with the game’s rating currently sitting at ‘Very Positive’.
Push Square referred to the game as “a thoroughly enjoyable sci-fi detective thriller” that’s packed with “unforgettable future cityscapes”.
COGconnected wrote, “Nobody Wants to Die leaves a strong, lasting impression. It’s one of the most original and striking games I’ve played this year.”
Nobody Wants To Die is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam so hopefully plenty of you will be able to get involved with this one.
