This fan-made Resident Evil Code: Veronica remake trailer is so gorgeous that it makes me want to cry, so please, Capcom, make it official.

Resident Evil Code: Veronica was first released in 2000 for the criminally underrated SEGA Dreamcast and on a console that struggled to shine globally, this Capcom survival horror instantly became one of its best games.

Taking place between Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 4, Code Veronica stars the returning Claire Redfield on the hunt for her missing brother, Chris Redfield, one of the original playable characters in the first game of the series released in 1996.

Claire’s investigation leads her to the remote Rockfort Island and typically in this series, nothing is ever straightforward and she soon finds herself tangled in another conspiracy with the sinister Umbrella Corp. at the heart of the shenanigans.

In 2019, Capcom released the Resident Evil 2 remake which was not only well received by veteran fans but also by new fans of the survival horror series, this was followed by remakes of Resident Evil 3 the following year, and more recently, the 2023 remake of Resident Evil 4.

Last year, Capcom announced that a new Resident Evil game is in development and judging by rumours, it might feature Leon S. Kennedy and Jill Valentine as playable characters for the first time in the video game series.

That being said, as exciting as it is waiting for news on Resident Evil 9 (currently not its official name), many fans would love to see Capcom continue the trend of its remakes with the likes of Resident Evil Zero and Resident Evil 5 being strong possibilities.

However, fans would not only love to see a remake of Resident Evil Outbreak but also the aforementioned Resident Evil Code: Veronica.

Capcom has given us no clear indication that a Code Veronica remake is on the way but a talented fan has taken matters into their own hands, giving us a taste of what we could expect.

The trailer made by the YouTuber ColcheroMix of a Resident Evil Code: Veronica remake seems to not only use footage from a Call of Duty game (11 seconds into the video) but also the Claire Redfield character model from the RE2 remake as well as snippets from Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles.

The trailer is somewhat of a mash-up but it works surprisingly well and with fans continuing to make their voices heard towards Capcom, hopefully, we’ll get that official remake of Resident Evil Code: Veronica sooner rather than later.
