Halo 5 is reportedly coming to PC, according to an accident leak from Lenovo

Ever since the release of Halo: Infinite in 2021, Xbox has been rejuvenating the franchise with a fresh start. The next Halo game is being developed on Unreal Engine, and reports suggest that the franchise is headed to PlayStation for the first time.

While all the Halo games are available on Xbox and PC, thanks to the Master Chief Collection, Halo 5 was missing. However, a potential PC port for Halo 5 has now been spotted on Lenovo Legion Go S’ website, suggesting an imminent announcement.

Why it matters: Fans have been demanding a PC port for Halo since the game’s release. While earlier rumours suggested that it may come to the platform, nothing ever came to fruition. However, with the recent Xbox strategy, Halo 5 will likely see a PC release now.

This news corroborates Microsoft’s efforts to bring the best of both Xbox and PC with handheld consoles. Hence, it would only make sense for all Xbox first-party titles to be available on the PC platform.

Earlier reports suggested that a Halo 5 PC port was in development at a time but was scrapped due to technical issues. It was speculated that the port had a frame rates issue, but with improved hardware, there shouldn’t be any problems now.

With Halo reportedly arriving on PlayStation consoles and now on PC, the franchise may see a resurgence ahead of the next title’s launch. Xbox’s developers’ direct will take place on January 23rd, and that’s when we’ll find out if such a reveal will happen.
