New Game of Thrones Trailer Finally Does Highgarden Justice

Game of Thrones Kingsroad Lady Olenna Tyrell A new official trailer has been released for Game of Thrones: Kingsroad, the all-new game that will allow players to further explore the world of Westeros. The game was announced at The Game Awards in December, described as an open-world action RPG that introduces an original story. From developer Netmarble, the game was also announced to be coming to iOS, Android, and Windows PC (via Window Launcher) sometime in 2025.

Ahead of the game’s release this year, an official trailer has surfaced online, per IGN. While it’s been revealed to be coming to PC after all, fans may be surprised that Game of Thrones: Kingsroad is also designed as a mobile game when seeing the trailer, which doesn’t look too far off from action-heavy console games. Familiar faces and locations are also featured in the new trailer for fans to recognize, with House Tyrell’s Lady Olenna front and center. It would seem that this will be a title that gamers who love the hit HBO series won’t want to miss, but fans can see that for themselves by checking out the new trailer below.

Game of Thrones: Kingsroad Is a Story-Driven Game

Explore the Immersive World of Westeros

“Faithfully crafted under official license from HBO and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, Game of Thrones: Kingsroad is a blockbuster story-driven action-adventure RPG that invites players to step into the immersive world of Westeros,” a Netmarble statement previously said about the new game. “In Game of Thrones: Kingsroad, you will embark on a journey to restore your house’s legacy, forging alliances through trials and betrayals while navigating a realm rife with intrigue, danger, and opportunity.”

The developer continued, “The game’s original storyline expands on that of the legendary TV series, allowing you to forge your own path amidst the power struggles of noble houses and the looming threat of what lies beyond the Wall.”

Players in the game can choose from one of three classes, each one offering a “distinct playstyle inspired by the archetypes seen in Game of Thrones.” The knight class uses a longsword with a fighting style described as sophisticated; the sellsword uses a battle axe with a “brutal” fighting style; and the assassin carries dual daggers and “employs agile and precise attacks.”

“Players will experience a brand-new story as they take on the role of a new character, who, through a quirk of fate, becomes the heir to House Tyre, a small noble house in the North,” the developer also said of the playable protagonist.

Game of Thrones: Kingsroad will be released in 2025 with an exact date yet to be announced. Ahead of the wide launch, players can sign up for the Regional Closed Beta now through Jan. 12 on the official website.
