Capcom shared in a press release that Monster Hunter Wilds has sold 10 million units, setting a new record for first-month sales for the company. Capcom attributed the success of the game to a combination of a simultaneous release on PC and consoles, crossplay implementation for the first time in the series, and the game’s blend of traditional Monster Hunter mechanics and new ideas. The press release added that new features like the Focus Mode mechanic and seamless movement between the settlements and biomes provided an “immersive gaming experience” for players.
Monster Hunter Wilds Hits Major Milestone With 10 Million Units
One Of Capcom’s Fastest-Selling Games

Monster Hunter Wilds is on track to be one of Capcom’s most successful games. According to Capcom sales data, the company’s best-selling game of all time (as of the end of 2024) is Monster Hunter World, selling around 21 million units across almost seven years. Monster Hunter Wilds has officially sold almost half of that in just one month. While the data does not reflect any changes to sales numbers since 2025 began, Wilds would rank as the seventh best-selling Capcom game of all time, slightly behind Resident Evil Village, when placed alongside the company’s other best-sellers.
Updates, DLC, And Community Support Will Further Support The Longevity Of Wilds
There Is Still A Lot More On The Way

Monster Hunter Wilds is going to get a lot of support over the next few years. Monster Hunter Wilds Title Update 1 is set to launch on April 4, adding a gathering hub, a new monster, new armor and weapons to craft, and much more. There will be another update in the summer which will add another new monster and event quests. Both of these updates will be free and just require players to update their game when the update is pushed live.
With the community as large as it is for Monster Hunter Wilds, there are seemingly never-ending mods and support for the game. A passionate player base, record-breaking sales, and planned support for the game are shaping up to be the tour de force that will potentially make Monster Hunter Wilds one of the most successful games in Capcom’s long history.
