“That guy is a P*ssy”: Joe Rogan and Friends Have an Advice for Anthony Mackie After He Says Captain America Shouldn’t Represent America

Joe Rogan and friends criticized Anthony Mackie for his comments on Captain America ahead of Captain America: Brave New World’s release.

Joe Rogan has gotten tangled up in many controversies in the past. Whether for his own opinions, or for his guests. Well, as one of the most influential podcasters of recent times, it is not exactly a surprise that what he puts out in the world tends to get blown out of proportion by the sheer number of his viewers.

Regardless, Rogan has recently sparked another heated debate when he with a bunch of his friends started deconstructing Anthony Mackie’s recent comments about Captain America.

While Mackie’s comments have already been a hot topic among fans, Joe Rogan’s insight into the matter has only seemed to fuel it even more. Interestingly, what caught people’s attention even more was the advice they had for the actor.

Anthony Mackie is the new hot topic of conversation these days. Not only because of his solo debut as the new Captain America but also because of what he said about the character just a few days before. Well, it’s not exactly a shock that something that the whole country has debated on ended up making its way to Joe Rogan’s show as well.

Joe Rogan took the time to address the matter when Bryan Callen, who was a guest, along with Matt Serra and Brendan Schaub, brought it up during an episode of The Joe Rogan Experience. While Callen asked them if they knew about it, pointing out that it turned into a “PR crisis,” Schaub joined in with his own two cents.

That guy’s not my Captain America. He’s a p*ssy. That’s a giant p*ssy.

Interestingly, the others mostly seemed to agree with him. Even Joe Rogan chimed in with how he thinks a lot of the time these actors just say whatever “to keep working.” However, they also noted that it wouldn’t be good for “numbers”, as “now the Americans aren’t gonna to f*cking Captain America”.

Moreover, they also seemed to be convinced that Mackie’s future in Marvel was finished with this one move. What’s ironic about this whole ordeal is the fact that the whole debate was born out of nothing but a misunderstanding, and Anthony Mackie took the brunt of that.

Anthony Mackie’s image took a bit of a hit for his comments regarding Captain America

People have been waiting with bated breath for Anthony Mackie’s Captain America: Brave New World for a long time. However, their excitement took a hit after Anthony Mackie gave his opinion about his character just a few days before the movie hit the theaters.

In an interview during the movie’s promotion, Mackie noted that to him Captain America doesn’t just represent America.

To me Captain America represents a lot of different things and I don’t think the term ‘America’ should be one of those representations. It’s about a man who keeps his word, who has honor, dignity and integrity. Someone who is trustworthy and dependable.

However, his comments were largely taken out of context. The actor had already faced some pushback when it was first revealed that he would be the next Cap, however, this incident blew things out of proportion. In fact, it became so worse that he had to come out and publicly clarify his stance on the matter on his Instagram.

Let me be clear about this, I’m a proud American, and taking on the shield of a hero like CAP is the honor of a lifetime. I have the utmost respect for those who serve and have served our country. CAP has universal characteristics that people all over the world can relate to.

What’s ironic, and very much clear from what Anthony Mackie noted in his post was that a lot of people who hated him, did it intentionally. Especially because when someone stops to think about it for a second it isn’t really hard to understand what The Hurt Locker actor was trying to get at.

Nonetheless, Captain America: Brave New World was released, and it seems to have converted hardened haters into Mackie’s fans. Although Joe Rogan and his friends seemed to be of a different opinion, it’ll be interesting to see what they have to say on the matter in the coming days.

You can watch Captain America: Brave New World at your nearest theaters.
