It’s been more than a year since the release of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. It was one of 2024’s best-rated games and even a runner-up for the Game of the Year Award. However, since it was a PS5 timed exclusive, gamers couldn’t help but wonder when they’ll be able to experience the game on other platforms.

While Xbox players might have to wait longer, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is finally here for PC players. However, it didn’t take the community that long to crack the game and dump all its files on torrent. Even though thousands of gamers are accessing the title illegally, some have pledged to support developer Square Enix.

You might wonder, how on earth can Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth get cracked so quickly? Well, it’s all due to the fact that it doesn’t feature Denuvo. If you’re unaware, this is a crucial anti-tampering technology that prevents new games from being pirated, or at least from people trying to crack on release.

For this sole reason, the community was able to pirate the game quickly, and now it’s spreading like wildfire. However, it’s currently impossible to say how many copies are being downloaded illegally.

Despite a Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth crack floating around that literally allows anyone to play the game for free, some gamers are willing to purchase the original title on Steam and support Square Enix. The reason behind this is that the game doesn’t feature Denuvo!

Sure, the lack of Denuvo might have caused the game to be pirated easily. However, the software has been bashed endlessly by gamers due to its privacy risk and the fact that it affects game performance. In a space where every developer brings a game with Denuvo, players are glad to see that Square Enix hasn’t taken that approach.

That’s not all, though; Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth as a game itself is worth the price. It’s an adventure that you simply can’t forget because Square Enix has unleashed everything under its belt to craft this beauty. What’s even better is that Square Enix is offering a 30$ discount on the game.

It’s great to see that Square Enix has taken the right approach of dropping Denuvo for this game. Let’s hope the studio can continue this approach for future PC ports, which will lead to more players supporting the studio.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth developers share exciting news for PS5

Now that Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is finally out on PC, gamers are now looking forward to the final part of the remake trilogy. Since it’s rumored that Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 will be released sometime around 2027 or 2028, many believed that it might skip out on PS5 and be a next-gen console exclusive.

However, that won’t be the case. While chatting with 4Gamer, Final Fantasy 7 Remake producer Yoshinori Kitase and director Naoki Hamaguchi stated that the title will launch for PS5. This is great for PS5 owners as they will be able to play the entire trilogy without needing to change consoles.

What’s interesting is that Hamaguchi states that Square Enix is open to releasing future games in the Final Fantasy franchise on a variety of platforms, indicating that even consoles like Xbox could have the series available.
