Leaked images confirmed The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remaster is almost ready, however, it still didn’t confirm a very important detail.
In 2023, some documents were acquired from FTC v. Microsoft case, which revealed that Microsoft’s subsidiary, ZeniMax Media, which is the parent company of studios like Bethesda Game Studios and id Software, was working on remasters of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, Fallout 3, and a new entry in the Doom franchise.
As per the document, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion remaster was originally set for release in the fiscal year 2022, however, the document was produced before Microsoft acquired ZeniMax in 2021, so players assumed that the company would put the project on the back burner.
Fortunately, it turns out that the project was in development and might be released soon. Some leaked images have emerged on social media, creating a lot of anticipation among the fans. The leaks have confirmed everything except one thing: the release date.

While going through Virtuos Games’ official website, some gamers managed to find leaked screenshots of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remaster. The screenshots were shared on Restera, and it’s safe to say that fans are excited about the game, as everyone believed that Bethesda abandoned the project. The website also revealed that the game will be released on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation 5.
The leak also confirmed that a Deluxe Edition will be released, allowing players to get access to extra items, such as horse armor and exclusive weapons. Unfortunately, the website didn’t confirm the game’s release date, but there are rumors that Bethesda plans to shadow release the game later this month.

As expected, shortly after the leaks went viral, Virtuos made sure that the images were no longer accessible through the original link. Many are concerned that Bethesda and Virtuos would delay the game due to the leaks, but if the game’s almost ready, then why would they delay it? Players should expect the game to be released later this month, as industry insider Jeff Grubb claimed that the game would be shadow-released between 21st to 27th April.
The cover art seemingly confirms that the game is almost ready, but in case you are still not convinced, there are many posts on the r/oblivion subreddit that contain some low-resolution screenshots, which are clear enough to convince you.
