Are you bored of the wait for a theoretical Fallout: New Vegas 2? Do you wish someone would just remake the original game in a completely different engine, so you could feel like you were playing through it again for the first time all over again?

The monkey’s paw furls. Your wish has been granted. Soon, the Fallout: New Vegas remake of your dreams will be yours to play… in The Sims 2.

As spotted by PC Gamer’s Rick Lane (per The Gamer), one man, clearly driven to the point of insanity by the wait for a sequel, has decided to “remaster” Fallout: New Vegas in The Sims 2 in a project they’re dubbing “The Sims 2: New Vegas”.

Not quite sure that fits the dictionary definition of a remaster but, hey, we Fallout fans will take literally anything at this point.

“Welcome to The Sims 2: New Vegas, a Fan Made Fallout: New Vegas “Remaster” in The Sims 2 Engine!” FalloutPropMaster writes on the official r/TheSims2NewVegas subreddit.

“Think of it as a “regressed remaster” utilizing the gameplay and storytelling mechanics of Various Fallout Titles, Garry’s Mod, and of course The Sims 2 and Castaway Stories.”

Admittedly, in spite of all my teasing, this is genuinely impressive work. It’s got a custom UI, custom models (there’s something oddly unsettling about this one of Vulpes Inculta spiking the camera, The Office-style) and custom buildings, all faithfully modelled after Fallout: New Vegas.

So, the answer undoubtedly on everyone’s lips is: why? What compelled this man to do this?

Well, FalloutPropMaster’s reasoning is pretty straightforward: “I’ve gotten impatient waiting for a remastered version of Fallout: New Vegas.”

Godspeed, brother. Absolutely nobody asked for this, but now that I know it exists, I want it.

As soon as this one is ready, you better believe we’ll let you know. Either way, you know it’ll be out before the next Fallout game.
