This year brought us many delights, including the likes of Astro Bot, Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree, and Silent Hill 2.
It didn’t simply bring us new releases though, so too was 2024 magical due its long-awaited updates on some of our favourite franchises and studios.
CD Projekt RED fans are now able to fawn over The Witcher 4’s very first trailer, while Naughty Dog has finally confirmed that it’s working on a brand new IP, Intergalactic.
It’s set us up in a very nice place heading into 2025, plenty to catch up on whilst having plenty to look forward to.
One franchise that didn’t exactly deliver is Fallout, although perhaps I’m being too harsh.
Fallout 76 is stronger than ever, and Prime Video’s Fallout TV adaptation is simply fantastic, but Fallout fans are yet to receive the Fallout 5 update they’re after.
That might not even change in 2025 as it’s The Elder Scrolls VI that’ll surely come to light first.
To ease the pain of waiting for a new mainline instalment though, Fallout fans may want to expand the Fallout 4 experience with the excellent ‘Point Lookout’ mod.
Created by NexusMods user TheCapitalWastelandProject, the mod essentially recreates Fallout 3’s Point Lookout DLC, importing it into Fallout 4’s world.
This includes every single quest, location, NPC, enemy, and item from the original DLC, resulting in tons of ‘new’ content to keep Fallout 4 players busy.
If you’re not familiar with the original DLC, it saw Tobar the Ferryman whisk players away to the mysterious seaside town of Point Lookout.
“What secrets does the dilapidated boardwalk hold? Who lives in the sprawling mansion? Why is the Punga Fruit so important? And what horrors lie in the depths of the murky swamp?” the original synopsis teased.
As I said, this fan-made creation features new versions of all of the original expansion’s assets, including over six recreated creatures, 25 returning weapons, 50 returning clothing items, 15 consumables and three new critters.
It’s a fantastic mod that’s maintained popularity since its original release, with over 1 million downloads to date.
If you want to join in, simply hop on over to NexusMods on your PC and get downloading for free.
