Stating that he should have left the stunts to the professional people, Norman Reedus revealed that he has often times hurt himself while shooting for The Walking Dead. In an interview with Men’s Journal, Reedus stated that he was going through so much pain that he had to eat Advil like he was eating Tic Tacs!

During the first season, he was dragged by his neck. Later on, Reedus would go on to sustain injuries like a sore shoulder, black eyes, stitches on his forehead, and knocking himself out when running through a door. To counter all the pain, Norman Reedus was “popping Advil like they were Tic Tacs.” But, it all seemed to be part of a job for the Blade II actor as he revealed that they weren’t there to shoot a royal or comfort show. They were there in the jungle to shoot The Walking Dead!

Starring in the drama-horror series, the stars of The Walking Dead had their perks but also their difficulties. Shooting in jungles often, Reedus revealed that everyone gave their everything to make this show as good as possible.

He further continued,

“It was hard work. The hours are crazy, it’s nonstop. But everybody always kept fighting to make the show as good as possible.”

In the end, the countless hours and bug bites were worth it as The Walking Dead (after 11 seasons) stood at a rating of 8.1/10 on IMDB and 79% on Rotten Tomatoes. With multiple spin-offs and 11 seasons, The Walking Dead TV Series is available to stream on Netflix in the U.S.
