Tyler Hoechlin’s Clark Kent also becomes mortal and perishes years later. Luckily, the Man of Steel’s major enemies have been taken down. However, as much as it’s a happy ending, there are many threads that have been left unsolved.
Did the New House of El Have Powers?
Jon and Jordan’s Children Remain Vague
Superman & Lois’ Super Sons (Jon and Jordan) get married in the future and have children of their own. Thus, Lois and Clark die happy, knowing the legacies of the House of El, the Kents, and the Lanes will live on.
The show does confirm that Jon and Jordan wore suits and succeeded Clark. But it never addresses the fate of these grandchildren. In this continuity, human-Kryptonian hybrids are quite powerful, so maybe a Superman & Lois spinoff can address this.
Did the Fortress of Solitude Persist Operations?
Lara’s Hologram Is Kept Out the Finale
The Superman & Lois series finale just has a glimpse of the Fortress of Solitude in the ocean. It never reveals what happened to the hologram of Clark’s mother, Lara. She isn’t even brought into play for Clark’s heart disease or Lois’ cancer.Showing the grandchildren with Lara would have shown that there was a plan in case the kids got super-powers. It has fans curious how the Department of Defense (DoD) handled this, too. There is a chance Natalie and John Henry Irons/Steel might have joined Jon and Jordan to collaborate with Lara, but this remains in the dark.
What Happened to Lex Luthor and the Mannheims?
Lex and Bruno’s Fates Are Left Up in The Air
The series ends with Lex in prison for life after his sins with the Doomsday project. Superman & Lois’ Bruno Mannheim is there, bullying Lex as he now runs the prison. The show never confirms their futures, however.
Lex is seen when Clark enters the afterlife, but that feels like Clark is just imagining forgiving Lex. There is a chance Lex might have been killed after making enemies in jail. Bruno did start a charity foundation with Lex and Clark, so fans would have liked to know what Bruno did with it once the Kents died, and if the DoD and Team Steel worked with Bruno due to his resources.
What Happened to Team Steel?
Natalie and Matteo Aren’t Given a Final Destiny
Superman and Lois — Photo Credit: Colin Bentley/The CW — © 2022 The CWIn the finale, Steel married Lana. This warmed Natalie’s heart. They both rocked new armors and kept being partners to the Super Sons and the DoD. However, the series didn’t bring key arcs to finality. Firstly, it’s unknown if Lana and Steel had children. It’s also never confirmed if John took over the DoD, which is something General Sam Lane floated once.
Secondly, there isn’t any hint about what happened with Natalie and her boyfriend, Matteo, Bruno’s son. He wasn’t at the wedding. It would have been cool to see them both running the charity and further legitimizing it down the line. This felt like what Natalie would have enjoyed more than being in the military, which is something she did tell her father she felt obligated to. Some fans were even thinking maybe the father-daughter duo left crime-fighting behind to focus on family, which is what their Lois would have wanted.
What Happened to Lex Luthor’s Minions?
Amanda McCoy’s and Milton Fine’s Fates Are Hidden
In addition to Lex being jailed, Steel and the DoD arrest the show’s Milton Fine, aka Braniac, for hacking their war armor. It’s never revealed what happened to Fine, however. Fans think karma should have had him in jail, suffering with Lex.Secondly, Superman & Lois’ Amanda McCoy betrayed Lex and provides evidence about his crimes. The show doesn’t reveal what happened to her, as she was complicit. Amanda in jail and LuthorCorp being shut down would have made sense. They were instruments of death and destruction, so no redemption could ever be garnered.
What Happened to Lana Lang’s Inner-Circle?
Sarah and Sophie’s Futures Aren’t Confirmed
There was closure to Lana’s ex-husband, Kyle. He is off with Chrissy having children and living in their new home. But there were no details as to what happened to Chrissy and the Smallville Gazette. Lois and Clark bought her shares out, but said Chrissy could own the paper and return as editor-in-chief whenever she wanted.
Lana Lang Actor Details

Notable Movies

Notable TV Shows
Entourage, The Passage, The Mentalist
The series doesn’t illustrate the paper’s final fate and if it’s still in operation. The show also doesn’t confirm what Sarah studied after she left Smallville. All fans see is Jordan and her ending things on a platonic note. Lastly, nothing is shown about Sarah’s little sister, Sophie. Sophie had a growth spurt for Season 4, but she was left as a minor character.
Did Glorious Godfrey Keep Being a Villain?
Godfrey May Be Out There Bashing the Kents
The series had Tom Cavanagh’s Glorious Gordon Godfrey spewing hate against the Kents. It stuck to DC lore, where he slandered Superman on behalf of Darkseid. Unfortunately, the show never highlights what happened to him and his xenophobic late night show.
Notably, the series had plans for the New Gods and Darkseid. They were deemed too ambitious, and only would have fit (had James Gunn allowed) if seven seasons took place as planned. It has viewers curious if Godfrey did continue the media war against the Super Sons, or if he was just a cool Easter egg showcasing news sensationalism.
What Happened to Tal-Rho?
Tal-Rho Remains On Bizarro’s World
Clark’s half-brother, Tal-Rho, atoned in the show and made a life in Bizarro’s Inverse World. There were plans to bring the actor, Adam Rayner, over, but scheduling and budget cuts hampered this.
It has fans wondering if Tal-Rho has ever visited the family again, or if he started up a family of his own. It would have created a second House of El dynasty with that world’s Lana; one that would have been great to see with the Super Sons and their offspring.
What Happened to Lucy Lane?
Lucy Has Been Left Out of the Many Lane Deaths
Lois saw her father’s ghost on her deathbed. Sam wasn’t in Clark’s visions in the afterlife, although that’s understandable, as scheduling conflicts and budget limitations inhibited everyone from being reunited for the finale.
A bigger question mark revolves around Lucy (Lois’ sister). She was dropped after the Parasite cult arc. Lucy betrayed Parasite, but Lois never mentioned her again. They were on good terms, so it would have been appreciated to know why Lucy never showed up amid all these tragedies, especially Sam’s death and Lois’ cancer.
What Happened to Candice and Emmitt Pergande?
Candice’s Romance With Jon and Emmitt’s Jail Stint Are Kept Blank
Jon’s high-school girlfriend, Candice, was apprehensive about remaining with him in their teenage years. She didn’t want to risk her life, knowing enemies would come after them. The series doesn’t punctuate if she was the woman who married Jon in the time-jump.
Additionally, Candice’s father, Emmitt, went to jail for trying to kill Clark. The show doesn’t affirm if he died. It would have been a nice Easter egg to see him in Stryker’s with his friend, Lex. It would have been karma, as Lex used Emmitt like a puppet and robbed him of rebuilding his life.
