This article contains references to miscarriage that some readers may find upsetting.
Red Dead Redemption 2 fans believe they may have discovered a heartbreaking secret in Chapter 4 of the campaign.
Before we proceed, please keep in mind that this article will cover the difficult topic of a potential miscarriage in Rockstar Games’ Red Dead Redemption 2.
Released in 2018 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, before coming to PC the following year, Red Dead Redemption 2 is widely considered to be one of the best video games of all time, as reflected by its impressive Metacritic score of 97, more than earning its “Must-Play” accolade.
“Red Dead Redemption 2 is the epic tale of outlaw Arthur Morgan and the infamous Van der Linde gang, on the run across America at the dawn of the modern age,” reads the description of the ever-popular Western title from the GTA VI developer.
The character that is the topic of this article is Molly O’Shea who hails from Dublin, Ireland. Molly is a loyal member of the Dutch van der Linde gang and at some point, was the lover of the group’s infamous leader, Dutch.
As the eagle-eyed Reddit user KobeniSoupy spotted, blood can be seen on Molly’s hand in Chapter 4: ‘Saint-Denis’. While it’s not officially confirmed why Molly has blood on her hands, fellow Redditors speculate that she may have been a victim of a tragic miscarriage.
“I feel in Chapter 3, Molly kept trying to talk to Dutch, maybe she was pregnant and that’s why she wanted to talk to him. But it looks like she must’ve had a miscarriage which leads to the events in Chapter 6: ‘Beaver Hollow’ where she gets very drunk,” suggested Safe_Appointment_331.
“This was around the time when she started being distant and hanging around the swamp/boat areas by herself during Chapter 4. Maybe the theories were right,” replied KobeniSoupy.
“I’ve seen a lot of ‘Molly being pregnant’ theories but often dismissed them, but this can actually be extremely pivotal information in understanding her character,” said another user.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is out now on PC, PlayStation and Xbox.
