Sharing their creation to Nexus Mods, alongside a trailer on YouTube, creator SquallyDaBeanz posted the first chapter of their expansive “Forsaken” mod that uses the mechanics of Baldur’s Gate 3 to tell an original story set within the World of Warcraft universe. The current build of the mod, which is described as a “teaser level“, only includes the “Deathknell” region, a recreation of the Tirisfal Glades starting zone in World of Warcraft. As for when the rest of “Forsaken” will arrive, SquallyDaBeanz has yet to lock in a release timeline but players can expect more content in the coming months.
What’s Currently Included In Forsaken?
And What Lies Ahead?

For a free mod “Forsaken” already features a healthy amount of content for Baldur’s Gate 3 players to enjoy. The first chapter boasts a new storyline told over five original quests that take place in a specially-designed town. The hamlet features a range of new NPCs, each with unique dialogue, as well as a place for the party to set up camp. There’s even a dungeon that includes plenty of combat encounters for those looking for some more action.

Custom Content Let’s Fans Continue Playing

While it may sting that we won’t receive any new official Baldur’s Gate 3 content, I do find it comforting that the modding community has stepped up to the plate. Given the robust nature of the game, it’s not only accessible to players wanting to dip their toe into the world of modding but it enables those with enough experience to share some incredible creations. “Forsaken” is a promising start and I’m excited to see where it ends up whenever SquallyDaBeanz’s manages to complete it.
