Tired of slow horses? Pearl Abyss just dropped the “Acid-Spitting” mount you didn’t know you needed! 🦎🔥
Patch 1.06.00 is officially here, and players are ditching their traditional steeds for something much more… reptilian. But before you go hunting, there’s a catch: if you try to tame the ones being ridden by NPCs, you’re going to have a very bad time.
There is a secret “Steal & Trust” mechanic you MUST follow at a specific fighting pit in the Lumson Desert, or you’ll just end up losing contribution points for nothing. Want to know which grocery item gives you 40+ trust instantly and where to find the exclusive Giant Iguana Saddle?
Don’t get left in the dust—here is the only way to claim your acid-blasting lizard: 👇

Move over, Black Horse. There’s a new king of the road in Pywel, and it has scales, a long tail, and an appetite for sweet potatoes.
With the release of Crimson Desert Update 1.06.00, Pearl Abyss has introduced a suite of new mounts, but none have captured the community’s imagination quite like the Iguana. While it might not be the fastest creature on four legs, its ability to spit balls of corrosive acid at enemies has turned it into the must-have accessory for the modern mercenary.
However, obtaining this reptilian beast isn’t as simple as whistling in a field. Here’s how the community is navigating the “Lizard Larceny” sweeping through the Lumson Desert.
The ‘Steal and Feed’ Gambit According to early reports and community guides from experts like DPJ, players are finding that hostility is the biggest hurdle. While enemy NPCs can be seen riding Iguananas across the map, these mounts are “hard-locked” as hostile. You cannot tame a lizard that’s already trying to kill you.
Instead, savvy players are heading to the Tash Kelp region in the Lumson Desert. Near a prominent fighting pit, players can find “unclaimed” (though technically owned) Iguananas. The process requires a bit of outlaw flair:
Walk up to the creature and use your lantern to “Steal.”
Swiftly exit the area to avoid a massive hit to your local Contribution points.
Once clear, you must immediately build “Trust.”
A Vegetarian’s Dream The way to an Iguana’s heart is through its stomach—specifically with fresh produce. Veteran players are stocking up at grocery shops in towns like Hernand before heading out. While meat is a no-go, vegetables like carrots, sweet potatoes, and even asparagus provide a massive “+40 Trust” per feeding. Three or four pieces of veg are usually enough to secure the mount permanently in your “Special Mounts” tab, which now boasts 30 available slots for rare creatures.
Tactical Advantage or Just a Gimmick? The Iguana isn’t just for show. Using the right trigger allows the rider to launch “acid balls,” providing a unique ranged attack while mounted. “It’s like playing Pokemon but with mercenaries and acid,” joked one fan on X (formerly Twitter).
To complete the look, players are flocking to local stable masters who now stock the Giant Iguana Saddle, though it appears these special items only become visible to the vendor once the player has successfully added the mount to their collection.
The Completionist Fever The Iguana is just the beginning. The 1.06.00 update has reignited a “gotta catch ’em all” fever within the Crimson Desert player base, with many now scouring the map for rumors of the elusive Black Lion.
Whether you’re looking for a tactical edge in combat or just want to ride a giant green lizard through the gates of Hernand, the Iguana is the definitive statement piece of the 1.06.00 era. Just remember to bring your carrots—and watch out for the guards.
