Netflix fans have confessed that they’e been ‘up all night’ binge-watching ‘breathtaking’ new period drama The Lady’s Companion that they claim ‘fills the Bridgerton‘ void.
The romantic comedy, which is set in the 1880s, hit the streaming service last month and fans are already demanding a second season.
Netflix’s synopsis reads: ‘Hired to find husbands for three wealthy sisters, chaperone Elena Bianda is drawn into a late 19th-century world of love, scandal and comic intrigue.’
The show premiered on March 28 and viewers have already watched all eight episodes.
One rushed to Reddit to share how much they loved it – and many have been losing sleep to stay up and watch.
A fan said: ‘I just binge-watched The Lady’s Companion on Netflix. It was so delightful!’

A third wrote: ‘Watched the whole season today. That cliffhanger without knowing if Netflix will green light a second season…’
‘I loved it!,’ a fourth simply chimed in.
While others are desperate to know if it will return with another season.
One wrote on X: ‘I just binged the entire season of The Lady’s Companion in one day and I really hope we get to see more! Totally addictive dramedy!’
They’ll be happy to know that more episodes could well be in the making.
Actress Isa Montalban, who plays Cristina in the show, and creator Gemma R. Neira have teased that discussions are ongoing.
When asked if a series two will be on the way, Gemma said: ‘We’re working on it.’

And Isa added that ‘everything is very fast these days’.
The Lady’s Companion was created by María José Rustarazo, and directed by Carlos Sedes and Claudia Pinto.
The cast includes Alvaro Mel, Zoe Bonafonte, Iratxe Emparan, Itziar Manero and Paula Usero.
Bridgerton hit our screens on Netflix on Christmas Day in 2020.
The series, created by Chris Van Dusen, is based on Julia Guinn’s books of the same name.
There has been 24 episodes over three seasons.

The Lady’s Companion and Bridgerton are both available to stream exclusively on Netflix.
