The Lion’s Den is one of the most interesting quests in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, but it may also leave you feeling a sense of guilt. Henry is tasked with infiltrating the enemy’s camp and gain their trust so Zizka and his men can ambush them.
This quest is pretty long and complicated, so it may take you some time to complete it. The Lion’s Den also features two fun side activities which you can easily miss.
Talk To Zizka
After completing the Exodus quest, you need to talk to Zizka. However, in order to start the next quest, you must complete The Devil’s Pack mission, where you will have to find the Dry Devil’s gang and recruit some of them back.
If you have completed the quest, head over to Zizka and talk to him. After talking to him, wait a whole day, and Samuel will be there for the meeting. Talk to Zizka again, and the whole team will get together to figure out their next move.
If you don’t have enough points in the skill checks that appear in the conversation, do not choose them, as they will just affect your reputation. After you are done talking, it is time to head over to meet Katherine at the camp.
Talk To Katherine
Go to the coordinates marked on your map and talk to Katherine. If you talk to her during the day, she will ask you to come back in the evening, so skip some time and talk to her. Katherine will then reveal everything she has learned and will ask you to enlist in the Sigismund’s army to figure out their plans.
Your objective is to enlist in the army and figure out when they will travel to Sedletz so your gang can ambush them on the way. Find Stephen Crow and talk to him, and you will be given some skill checks during the conversation, but none of those matter. Even if you fail them, Crow will still take you to Katz and instruct you to find some lost soldiers.
How To Find Lost Soldiers
Upon choosing the dialogue option, “Can’t we wake him up for a while?” or “I don’t have time, just heal him somehow”, you will get a new objective to help that soldier. Musa will then tell you to brew a Strong Cockerel potion to heal the soldier.
The Alchemy bench is just behind Musa’s tent. To brew a Strong Cockerel potion, you need one Valerian and two Mints, but you must perform each step perfectly and have fresh ingredients.
Go to the coordinates on your map to find the missing soldiers. The soldiers can be found at Old Lhota, slightly south of the D marker on your map. If you see any soldier outside, talk to him. You won’t have to win any skill checks here, just tell the soldier you are looking for a document and that you won’t cause them any trouble.
He will give you the key to open the chest. Behind you will be two doors; open the one on the right and climb the ladder. A chest will be just ahead of you. Open it and take Lost Charter for King Sigismund; you can also loot 300 Groschen.
Talk To Katz
Now that you have the document, head over to Katz and give it to him. He will ask about the soldiers. You can either lie about how you dealt with them or tell him they are hiding at Old Lhota. If you lie, he won’t know about that, and you will gain a reputation.
He will then ask you to play a game of dice with him. If you don’t know how to play it, refuse twice, and he will not ask another time, but if you are confident and want some more Groschen, you will get 600 by defeating him. However, you will part with 300 Groschen if you lose.
How To Investigate The Crime Scene
After that, a cutscene will start revealing the commander of the Cumans, Chertan, has been stabbed. You will have to investigate the crime scene, so first inspect the blood on the ground, then head over to the hut on your left.
There will be a broken lock; inspect that and then inspect the canon. After that, inspect the gunpowder on the ground and leave the hut. In front of the blood you examined before, there will be a tub; examine that and a dagger right next to it.
Right next to the tub is Chertan’s tent; enter, and you will notice a chest. You can open it for more clues, but as it is highly difficult, it will be tough. So, instead, you should grab the key under the bed and open the chest using it.
How To Find The Murderer
Yyou have to clear Musa’s name and find the actual murderer. Head over to Musa in his tent, where there will be an annoying guard who will get in your way. If you can’t win him over with the skill check, wait for him to turn his back and proceed to Musa.
Talk to him, and he will ask you to figure out the poison that was used to kill Chertan. Examine Chertan’s dead body and read The Book of Poisons. It is in the chest near Chertan’s dead body; you will have to lockpick it.
The difficulty is easy, so lockpick the chest and loot The Book of Poisons. After that, read it from your inventory and go to Musa. Choose Kiss of Death as your answer. Musa will get a little suspicious about your identity. You can tell him the truth, as it won’t matter much.
Now, you need to examine a few tents. First of all, search Musa’s tent. Inspect everything you get a mark on, and then go to Crow’s tent. Upon examining his tent, you will figure out he is the one who brews the Kiss of Dead poison.
After that, head over to Adalbert and Radovan’s tent and inspect everything. You will also have to lockpick the chest with easy difficulty. Lastly, inspect the wines and herbs on the table on the right side of Grozav’s tent.
After that, skip time until morning and defend Musa during the trial. You can accuse Grozav or Crow during the trial, and if you choose the right options, they will be found guilty. Depending on who you accuse, they will attack you, so defeat them.
Talk To Katherine
After you are done with the trial, go to Katherine and tell her you are ready to move out with the Praguers. She will let Zizka know so he can set up an ambush. After that, talk to Katz, and a cutscene will commence.
Before talking to Katz, you should ask Katherine what was bothering her. This will trigger a pretty interesting side activity, The Stalker, which will bring you closer to Katherine.
