Unbelievable: A film based on the tragic Air India 171 crash is being released—and it’s already sparking major controversy! 😱
A new movie is set to be released, based on the devastating crash of Air India 171, but the reactions have been far from positive. 😳 How will the film handle this tragic event, and why is it causing such a stir?
Air India received terrifying warning about safety just days before crash that killed 270
Air India are said to have received a concerning warning in the days leading up to the a plane crash that claimed the lives of nearly 300 people.
Last Thursday (June 12), an Air India plane carrying 242 people crashed shortly after take off. It was initially thought that no one survived the tragic ordeal, but miraculously one man, a British national, did.
Lives on the ground were also lost as a result of the crash in Ahmedabad.
The London-bound flight was airborne for less than a minute before the fatal incident.
It’s now been revealed that Air India received a warning from India’s aviation regulator shortly before the devastating ordeal.
As per Reuters, three Airbuses were said to be of concern and these aircrafts flew ‘despite being overdue checks on emergency equipment, and for being slow to address the issue’, according to government documents.

It’s been noted that this warning was not in relation to Flight 171 that crashed last week. The jet that crashed was a Boeing 787 Dreamliner.
The checks in question were carried out in May, says the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). Checks on one of the aircrafts were allegedly three months late, but Air India proceeded to use the plane for domestic routes.
“The above cases indicate that aircraft were operated with expired or unverified emergency equipment, which is a violation of standard airworthiness and safety requirements,” part for the damning DGCA report read.
It adds that the airline ‘failed to submit timely compliance responses’ to deficiencies raised by regulatory body.

The news of the report not only comes after last week’s devastating crash but after an Air India plane was forced to turn round mid-flight on June 16 because of a suspected technical issue that was raised by the pilot.
Addressing the incident shortly after, an Air India spokesperson told UNILAD: “AI315 operating from Hong Kong to Delhi on 16 June 2025 air-returned to Hong Kong shortly after take off due to a technical issue. The flight landed safely at Hong Kong and is undergoing checks as a matter of abundant precaution.
“Alternative arrangements have been planned to fly the passengers to their destination Delhi at the earliest. We are providing all necessary on-ground assistance to the passengers to minimise the inconvenience caused by this unforeseen disruption.”
Air India pilot’s reported tragic final words in distressed mayday call before crash that killed 265
The plane crashed back down to the ground after only getting a few miles from Ahmedabad Airport
The tragedy of the Air India crash still leaves many questions unanswered, but what the pilot reportedly said before the disaster has been revealed.
An Air India flight crashed just minutes after taking off from India’s Ahmedabad Airport on Thursday (June 12).
The AI 171 flight was on its way to London Gatwick and was expected to touch down in the UK at 6:25 pm local time.
However, the flight would only reach about 625 feet in the air before plummeting to the ground four miles away from the airport runway.
According to the airline, there were 242 passengers and crew members on board. Air India added: “Of these, 169 are Indian nationals, 53 are British nationals, 1 Canadian national and 7 Portuguese nationals.”

There was reportedly only one survivor from the plane crash, 40-year-old British national Vishwash Kumar Ramesh.
According to Deputy Commissioner of Police Kanan Desai, 265 bodies have so far been recovered – including people who died on the ground – but this number may increase as rescue efforts continue.
The exact cause of the crash is currently being investigated, and more details are expected to come out over the coming days.
The two pilots flying the plane have been identified as Captain Sumeet Sabharwal and First Officer Clive Kunder.
India’s aviation regulator said the aircraft gave a mayday call to air traffic control. However, there was no response from the plane after that.
The captain reportedly called out on his radio: “Mayday […] no thrust, losing power, unable to lift.”
It’s believed that the pair of pilots then attempted to get control of the plane as it sank through the air before crashing into a medical college hostel.
The Chairman of Air India, Natarajan Chandrasekaran, has also released a lengthy statement and offered his condolences, while saying the incident was a ‘tragic accident’.
