The simple task of delivering a message to Otto von Bergow turns into a huge adventure where Henry gets to experience medieval peasant life (again) and all the dangers that come with it. From lugging sacks to dealing with Hans Capon’s nonsense, there are a lot of things he doesn’t want to do.

However, after his bender around Bohemia and the climactic sequence of the game, Henry takes a moment to reflect on everything he’s done. This is the ending of the game’s main quest, where his actions throughout his adventure are taken into account and weighed to see if they were honourable or in line with that of a common bandit.

There’s No Pleasing Your Parents In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

Those of you who’ve completed the main quest will know that during Henry’s moment of reflection, he sees his parents, who talk about all the things he did and was forced to do during the events of the game. Even those who decided on sticking to the honourable path were forced to make decisions that went against their morals. But Henry’s parents weren’t having any of it.

Most players were admonished by Henry’s parents for their actions in the game, even though they were either forced to commit them or they were for the greater good. It seems there’s no pleasing some parents, even after they have passed.

As showcased by the aptly named lowborn_lord on Reddit, the game makes it very hard for Henry to get an ending where his parents are proud of him without a doubt. “To be honest, I didn’t care what my parents said at the final meeting,” said one comment. “Henry throughout the 2 games gets put through way more shit than anyone would in like 6 lifetimes.”

Another comment noted that killing enemies that surrender is dishonourable, but sometimes they give you no choice. “I used to allow surrender,” said another player. “Until one got up, immediately started attacking me again for fighting his still-hostile friends, attacked me from behind and got me killed.”

It seems that this interaction only gets worse if you try to justify your actions. So, if Henry admits to crossing the line at times, his parents aren’t too hard on him. However, for a game that forces
