Future Days is the first episode of The Last of Us season 2, and it wastes no time in stirring up the pot and bringing forth the dread. Ellie and Dina embark on a routine patrol outside Jackson, and they happen to stumble upon an abandoned building.
Unbeknownst to them, there’s a nightmarish surprise awaiting the two. The game version of the sequence features Runners and Clickers, but the show threw in a horrifying twist here by introducing a Stalker.
We don’t encounter this type of infected being until much later in The Last of Us Part II. Unlike the other two types, a Stalker is a much more calculated and cunning creature that lurks in the shadows, waiting for the perfect moment to strike.

Ellie’s character in The Last of Us is so effortlessly played by Bella Ramsey that you would think the actress is just that brave and chill in real life. But even artists have their spooky moments, and for Ramsey, it was the Stalker scene. She spoke more about the same in an interview with Collider.
Watching it, I find scary because, obviously, the sound wasn’t in. The way that it’s been edited together makes it literally a thousand times scarier. When I first saw that, my heart was racing, for sure, even though I knew what was about to happen.
She described how the whole set-up was so typical, but in the final edit, the scene played out like a horror movie. However, the most interesting thing is that during the same conversation, Ramsey teased a new infected type that we’ll see this season.
She hinted at the arrival of the acid-spewing Shamblers and the grotesque Rat King! Introducing the Stalkers has already heightened the tensions, and according to what the actress has revealed so far, season 2 will probably be an even more intense ride than its predecessor.
