🎮 Monster Hunter Wilds Roars to Victory: Smashes Capcom’s Sales Record with Millions Hooked, and Epic Updates Are Still on the Way! 🔥

Just over a month after its release, Monster Hunter Wilds smashed a major sales record for Capcom, and the company still has more planned for the game. Monster Hunter is a massive franchise that found global success outside of Japan with the release of Monster Hunter World back in 2018, and it seems like the series is only getting bigger. With a lot of post-launch content planned and millions of active players, Monster Hunter Wilds may be on its way to being the most successful Monster Hunter game ever.

Capcom shared in a press release that Monster Hunter Wilds has sold 10 million units, setting a new record for first-month sales for the company. Capcom attributed the success of the game to a combination of a simultaneous release on PC and consoles, crossplay implementation for the first time in the series, and the game’s blend of traditional Monster Hunter mechanics and new ideas. The press release added that new features like the Focus Mode mechanic and seamless movement between the settlements and biomes provided an “immersive gaming experience” for players.

Monster Hunter Wilds is on track to be one of Capcom’s most successful games. According to Capcom sales data, the company’s best-selling game of all time (as of the end of 2024) is Monster Hunter World, selling around 21 million units across almost seven years. Monster Hunter Wilds has officially sold almost half of that in just one month. While the data does not reflect any changes to sales numbers since 2025 began, Wilds would rank as the seventh best-selling Capcom game of all time, slightly behind Resident Evil Village, when placed alongside the company’s other best-sellers.

It’s worth noting that Monster Hunter Wilds already holds a sales record for Capcom as the fastest-selling game in the company’s history, with 8 million copies sold in three days, meaning the game has sold an additional 2 million copies since the beginning of March.

Updates, DLC, And Community Support Will Further Support The Longevity Of Wilds

There Is Still A Lot More On The Way

Monster Hunter Wilds is going to get a lot of support over the next few years. Monster Hunter Wilds Title Update 1 is set to launch on April 4, adding a gathering hub, a new monster, new armor and weapons to craft, and much more. There will be another update in the summer which will add another new monster and event quests. Both of these updates will be free and just require players to update their game when the update is pushed live.

While a traditional Monster Hunter Master Rank expansion has not been confirmed yet, it seems likely that one will come next year. Both Monster Hunter World: Iceborne and Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, the major expansions for their base games, were released just a year after the initial game’s launch, and with Master Rank currently being absent and the game doing as well as it is, it seems likely that the major expansion to Monster Hunter Wilds is likely to come in 2026.

With the community as large as it is for Monster Hunter Wilds, there are seemingly never-ending mods and support for the game. A passionate player base, record-breaking sales, and planned support for the game are shaping up to be the tour de force that will potentially make Monster Hunter Wilds one of the most successful games in Capcom’s long history.
