Despite us rapidly approaching the 14-year anniversary of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, its player base is still dedicated to discovering all of the secrets, features and Easter eggs the RPG has to offer.

There is no denying that Bethesda put everything it had into The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim which is made clear by the fact that, despite being over a decade old, players still flock to the hit RPG in their thousands each year.

So it is perhaps no surprise that secrets and useful tips are still being discovered and shared to this day, especially over on r/skyrim.

From hidden areas in Solitude to hidden secrets in Riften, players are still stumbling across new discoveries to this day and this latest one is no exception.

This discovery comes after one user took to r/skyrim to ask, “What’s a Skyrim feature you discovered that not many people know about?”

Over 500 comments followed but it was one of the top answers that caught our attention.

“It took me a dozen playthroughs to realize that Clear Skies counters Alduin’s meteor showers,” user kevinkiggs1 shared.

Facing Alduin in Skyrim is never an easy experience, especially as he is able to rain down meteor showers on the player, with most of us trying to dodge and hope for the best.

However, thanks to this discovery, we now know that using the Clear Skies shout, which has the ability to remove all weather effects, can also work for the Meteor Storm.

“It explicitly tells you to use Clear Skies on the storm around the Throat of the World, but it never explains how to use it against Alduin,” user System_harddrive explained.

“I didn’t know about it until recently, and I’ve done maybe 20-something playthroughs.”

If you think about it, it does make sense but as the game doesn’t explicitly state this, it is a feature that many of us would have overlooked.

Especially according to the comments.

“Oh I feel more stupid than I ever have before,” one comment read.

Well, at least we know now, right?
