Konami’s revival of the Silent Hill series has started strongly with Silent Hill 2’s remake. The game has been a huge commercial and critical success, with over 2 million units sold to date.
Following its success, Konami has decided to extend its partnership with the Bloober Team. The studio is currently working on a new unannounced game based on an existing Konami IP.
Why it matters: Bloober Team has repeatedly portrayed its ability to make outstanding horror games. For them to work on another Konami game is a huge achievement and promises another solid game.
This news was announced on the official Bloober Team website. While they haven’t unveiled all the details in the next title, they teased some huge things to fans about this collaboration.
We can’t wait to share something truly special with players when the time is right
It is highly speculated that the upcoming game might be another Silent Hill title, considering Bloober Team’s specialization in horror games and experience with the franchise.
An insider previously reported that a remake of Silent Hill 1 and 3 was in development, so it’s possible that the studio is referring to these projects.
However, it is possible that they are referring to a completely different franchise. Perhaps even a long-awaited Dino Crisis remake, but that remains to be seen. Konami is already working on multiple Silent Hill franchises.
