CEO SCANDAL ERUPTS! š” Andy Byron QUITS after the explosive Coldplay kiss cam fiasco! š± His 5-word statement IGNITES fury everywhere! š„ What did he say? š
The technology company Astronomer said its CEO, Andy Byron, has resigned after he was shown embracing a woman on a screen during a Coldplay concert.
Astronomer’s board of directors accepted the resignation Saturday, saying it will begin a search for a replacement. The company said Friday that it launched a formal investigation into Byron after theĀ video of him went viral online.
“As stated previously, Astronomer is committed to the values and culture that have guided us since our founding. Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability, and recently, that standard was not met,” the New York company said in a statement on Saturday.
Byron was shown with his arms wrapped around a woman on a jumbo screen during a Coldplay concert on Wednesday in Foxborough, Massachusetts, according to a social mediaĀ post. Some media outletsĀ identifiedĀ the woman as Astronomer human resources chief Kristin Cabot.
Byron didn’t immediately respond to requests for comment sent to Astronomer.
Astronomer, a privately held company based in New York, makes software that helps companies implement workflow management technology.
The video emerged after Coldplay lead singer Chris Martin asked the cameras to scan the crowd for his “Jumbotron Song,” when he sings a few lines about the people the camera lands on.
For several seconds, a couple was shown cuddling and smiling, with the man’s arms wrapped around her as she leaned back into him. When they saw themselves on the big screen, her jaw dropped, her hands flew to her face and she spun away from the camera. He ducked out of the frame, as did she.
“Either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy,” Martin joked.

Both Byron and Cabot’s LinkedIn accounts were inactive as of Friday afternoon.
In a statement to CBS News on Friday, Astronomer said Byron was placed on leave and that Pete DeJoy, co-founder and chief product officer, is serving as interim CEO.
“The events of the past few days have received a level of media attention that few companies ā let alone startups in our small corner of the data and AI world ā ever encounter,” DeJoy said Monday in aĀ statementĀ posted on LinkedIn. “The spotlight has been unusual and surreal for our team and, while I would never have wished for it to happen like this, Astronomer is now a household name.”
DeJoy also vowed to keep the company on course, highlighting its growth as a provider of workflow technology.
Most concert venues have signs informing the audience that they could be filmed during the event. It’s common practice especially when bands like to use performances for music videos or concert films.
The venue where the concert took place, Gillette Stadium, also has aĀ privacy policyĀ that states: “When you visit our location or attend or participate in an event at our location, we may capture your image, voice and/or likeness, including through the use of CCTV cameras and/or when we film or photograph you in a public location.”
The tech tycoon and his head-of-HR mistress whose affair was exposed on a ākiss cameraā at a Coldplay concert both appeared to be living the American dream ā complete with happy family photos and big suburban houses ā before the cheating scandal torpedoed their lives, sources said Friday.
Megan Kerrigan, wife of philandering Astronomer CEO Andy Byron, 50, shared joyful family photos with him and their apparent sons on Facebook before he was exposed as two-timing with the companyās Chief People Officer, Kristin Cabot, 52.

Her wholesome Facebook photos showed the Byron gang grinning with arms around each other on a hike and at a graduation ā before Kerrigan deleted her married name and the entire social media account Thursday.
In the hiking shots, the tight-knit family is posed in front of a creek with the married couple looking cozy and beaming, flanked by the two teenage boys.
It wasnāt immediately clear when the photos were taken or posted. But Kerrigan had used the outdoorsy image as her profile picture until her husband was caught in jumbotron footage canoodling with Cabot at the rock show outside Boston Wednesday, prompting a disastrous viral scandal for the pair.
