“ANTI-Woke/DEI mob will try to make Elder Scrolls 6 fail”: The Same Phenomenon That Tanked Concord Is Coming for Todd Howard’s ES6

The Elder Scrolls 6 is destined to be a legendary game, but can it escape the same fate as Sony’s 400 million dollar failure, Concord?

Elder Scroll 6 and Concord

It’s not a secret that the Elder Scrolls 6 is one of the most hyped RPG titles of the decade. The next chapter in Bethesda’s critically acclaimed franchise has been at the top of every gamer’s wish list, but Todd Howard and his team still haven’t shared any insights on what we can expect.

Whenever the game hits the shelves, it’s undoubtedly going to be a big hit. However, many in the community believe that the game might prove to be a bust because the “anti-woke/dei” crowd will be after the Elder Scrolls title, just like Sony’s Concord failure.

If you’ve forgotten already, Concord was yet another hero-shooter title from PlayStation‘s subsidiary, Firewalk Studios. Although the game’s beta was promising, its launch proved to be a major disaster as it couldn’t attract gamers. Just a week and a half after its debut, Sony announced that the game would be closing its doors.

So, why did Concord fail? Well, there are a range of reasons. However, many people felt that it was unnecessarily bashed for so-called “woke” elements.” Several anti-LGTBQ+ pundits blamed the game’s failure on the inclusion of pronouns and woke character designs. But now gamers believe that Elder Scrolls 6 might face the same fate.

Over on Reddit, gamers are willing to bet that the “anti-woke/DEI” crowd will try its best to bash the game just because it includes Redguards.

These are a race of men in the Elder Scrolls franchise that originate from the desert province of Hammerfell and are a force to be reckoned with thanks to their swordsmanship and resilience.

Although Bethesda has never stated that Redguards are exclusively “black” or “brown,” their design draws right from the regions of African, Arabian, and Middle Eastern cultures.

Long-time Elder Scrolls fans are already well aware of the origins of these elite warriors, but some newer generation of fans will undoubtedly try to make a big deal out of this and blame Bethesda for going woke.

It’s time for Elder Scrolls 6 to break the tradition

In the last Elder Scrolls titles, players have uncovered the existence of and eventually fought against enemies that go beyond Tamriel’s mortal races. Every single one of them looked more like a primal force or was one of the Daedric entitles.

There’s no denying the fact that all of them are quite horrifying and deadly in their own right. However, Bethesda has used this setup way too many times, and it might play against Elder Scrolls 6. Even though we know nothing about the title, gamers are expecting to face off against another Daedric prince or something similar.

But Bethesda can shock everyone by breaking this decade-old tradition and featuring more humanoid enemies to wreck gamers. Depending on where the title takes place, it could give us the origins and ambitions of humanoid villains via their military and political machinations. This will make such characters more grounded.

By taking a different route, Elder Scrolls 6 has the chance to put gamers and their enemies on an equal playing field, which might end up giving us a more interesting plot as well.
