Ahead of launch, though, one mode was rumored to be in development for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, and as of right now, it’s nowhere to be seen. This has, naturally, led to calls from fans for it to be implemented.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows Players Really Want To Play The Rumored Co-Op Mode

Last October, Insider Gaming reported that a Co-Op mode was in development for Assassin’s Creed Shadows under the codename ‘LEAGUE’. This mode has reportedly been affecting the entire Assassin’s Creed pipeline, which seemingly consists of multiple games in the franchise.
Six months have passed since that report, and almost one month since Shadows launched, and there has been no sign, further rumors, or confirmation of a Co-Op mode, and fans are getting restless.
Over on the Assassin’s Creed subreddit, a new thread has been gaining traction in which players have been discussing the rumored mode, calling for its release, sharing their hopes, and praying it hasn’t been canceled.
“I hope Co-Op is like in Ghost Of Tsushima, where you essentially have an entirely different game. The main game is not laid out for Co-Op imo,” said Battlefeather. Another player suggested, “I’d like it to be a rogue-like where you go out as members of Naoe’s new creed and get materials and gear, and each member has different stats, and if they die, you can come back as a new one and go get the loot again.”
However, while the mode has been reported by a reliable source, some players still have their doubts about it. “Adding a mode that makes Naoe and Yasuke’s story a co-op affair? Way too good to be true. It won’t ever happen. That would be one of the best co-op programs ever made. I doubt Ubisoft is going to be the one to do that,” said Roughpaw, who also added, “But damn would it be awesome for a buddy to come into my game as Naoe, picking people off and destroying alarm bells while I run straight through the front door and get to cutting.”
I guess only time will tell. Ball’s in your court, Ubisoft.
