Assassin’s Creed: Shadows was released nearly a month ago. The title had a great start, scoring 82 on Metacritic. It was also released on day one on Steam and had a massive launch on the platform.
Recent data suggest that Assassin’s Creed: Shadows has become the US’s second highest-selling game this year.
Why it matters: Despite much controversy and delays, it appears that Assassin’s Creed: Shadows has been doing wonders for Ubisoft.
According to data from Circana’s Mat Piscatella, Assassin’s Creed: Shadows has been the best-selling title in the US for the past three weeks since its launch.
Assassin’s Creed: Shadows has been the best-selling video game in the US for each of its first 3 weeks in market.
The data further suggests that the title has already become the second-best-selling title in the US for 2025, just behind Monster Hunter: Wilds.
Currently ranks #2 year-to-date trailing only Monster Hunter: Wilds.
Since Monster Hunter: Wilds has been out longer, the Ubisoft latest release may likely end up beating the Capcom’s action role-playing game in the coming weeks.
While this is massive for Ubisoft and the franchise, a recent report has suggested that the players are dropping off the title around 15 hours in, and very few players are actually finishing the second act of the title.
The title has also been helping Ubisoft as the company stock increased by 5% following the release of Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
