When you’re stuck with a problem while on your quest to rid yourself of the tadpole in your head, sometimes you only need to think out of the box to find a simple solution. There are also certain mechanics that are not pointed out at all and can make your life a lot easier and more efficient.
Get Fire Resistance Using A Water Bottle

Plenty of enemies can cast spells that deal fire damage to their opponents, and some others can throw items that will burst into flames where they land. Apart from that, there are also traps and explosives that can engulf victims in flames and deal serious damage if they’re not careful.
While an elixir of fire resistance may be helpful to negate this element’s damage, you can do something as simple as dousing yourself with water to become resistant to fire. You don’t even need to use a spell; a jar of water will do!
Shoot Levers Or Use A Summon

If you find a lever that’s a bit out of reach or one that will take a lot of walking and effort to get to, you can just shoot it from afar to activate it. You can use a bow and arrow, but even throwing weapons like javelins will work. You can even use a cantrip to do so.
If the lever is out of your field of vision, you can use a summon like Basket the quasit to get to the lever and do the job for you.
Stacking Wooden Crates

Wooden crates are unassuming but extremely useful tools for exploration. If you right-click on one, you’ll see an option to climb on top of it and this works even for crates that are stacked on top of each other. If there are ledges that are too high, you can stack a number of wooden crates that you can climb on and use as a platform to jump from.
Climbing on wooden crates can also give height advantage in combat.
If jumping down from an unsafe height, a character that can land safely can stack wooden crates at the bottom for the rest of their party to jump onto instead.
Shopping Through Vendor’s Pockets

If you’re still using your hard-earned gold to shop honestly from the different vendors, you may want to take a page out of Astarion’s book and be a little mischievous. Pickpocket the vendors first to check for items that require low dice rolls. Several potions and scrolls only need a roll of four and below for the Sleight-Of-Hand check to succeed.
Cast Bardic Inspiration or Guidance on your assigned thief to ensure they pass the check.
If you’re eyeing big ticket items, you can have someone speak to the vendor while you select another character to carry out the pickpocketing. Make sure to use turn-based mode for this.
Use Gaseous Form

If you want to get to a spot that’s out of reach or past several enemies, you might turn to Misty Step or use invisibility. Instead, you should cast Gaseous Form on someone and have them get around any area instead. This lasts until your next long rest, so you don’t have to rush while it’s active.
You can even move items around while you’re in this form, so you can easily pick up chests, crates, and anything else light enough and drag it to where your party is waiting.
Click On Your Armor Slot For Easier Switching

Inventory management can become a nightmare for those who are hoarders and loot goblins. This makes managing equipment a nightmare sometimes given how many different pieces of equipment every character can put on. That said, if you don’t want to bother with sorting through your messy backpacks, there’s an easy way to select gear.
Keyboard Shortcuts

There are plenty of keyboard shortcuts that aren’t that obvious, which is a shame because they make things so much more efficient. For inventory management, you can hold shift and click on a set of items that you want to move as a group. If the items are not side-by-side, you can use ctrl and click to select as many as you want instead.
When you loot, there’s a Take All button but you can just hit spacebar to do so. You can also drag items to companion portraits to send them to their inventories.
Use Hirelings For Buffs

If you struggle with managing your spell slots, especially for companions that cast buffs on the party, you can use hirelings instead or companions who stay behind in camp. They don’t even have to take up a spot in your party.
Certain buffs can last until the next long rest and you can have a hireling or companion cast them on the party you’re taking along. When they’re done casting, dismiss them and leave them in camp. They can maintain concentration on these spells too without any worry.
Use Mage Hand As A Delivery Service

In combat, having an extra hand to pick things up and toss them to different areas of the battlefield can be lifesaving. A literal option can be the Mage Hand which can be cast in and out of combat and will take a turn of its own. This hand is capable of throwing different items to both allies and enemies alike.
A Mage Hand can only pick up an item that’s been dropped on the ground
Use the hand to throw a potion to allies or to throw weapons like javelins or explosives at enemies.
