Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 players have a new problem due to an unnecessary implementation of a strict tool by Activision.

It seems Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 isn’t getting rid of its problems anytime soon. Every day it’s a new issue for the most recent installment of this highly coveted franchise. Forget the controversies regarding maps, movement mechanics, and many more, the game right now is overly infested with hackers and cheaters.

Despite the presence of a strong kernel-level anti-cheat system like Ricochet, there’s no stopping the hackers. Although the developers are trying hard to make the situation better for the players, the new chat ban system might have other ideas that are making the lives of the players miserable.

Players are getting voice chat bans in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 for cussing

Trash-talking is an age-old aspect of any competitive game and Call of Duty is not an exception as well. We are human beings, and it’s obvious we would let our emotions drive through the most loved aspect of our lives, which is gaming, as long as those emotions don’t cross the derogatory barrier.

But the new chat-banning massacre by Treyarch has become way too strict. Recently a dedicated Call of Duty fan has shared his frustration over Reddit. He has stated that he has been getting several bans for using cuss words. It’s true that cussing online all the time isn’t in good taste, but getting voice chat banned for that is a way more serious penalty.

All this havoc has been wrecked because of the new “anti-toxicity tools” by Activision. The company claims that by using Modulate’s ToxMod AI technology to combat harassment and offensive language in voice chats in CoD, the game has seen a “67% reduction in repeat offenders of voice-chat-based offenses in Modern Warfare III and Call of Duty: Warzone.”

These voice moderation systems, which support English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, and German, were included in Black Ops 6 from the beginning.

Despite the rampant ban spree from the anti-toxicity tool by Activision, the company has revealed that it supports the trash talks by the players. The moderation of voice chat in-game in Call of Duty was one of the numerous topics covered in the most recent blog article.

Since its launch in 2023, the system has been a crucial instrument in lowering players’ exposure to hate speech, harassment, and disparaging language in voice communications, according to Activision.

The studio does add, though, that gamers “should have the freedom to trash talk.” Activision, the statement continues, is always collaborating with developers to ensure that the voice moderation mechanism is only focusing on talks that “veer into derogatory territory.”

Then, Activision clarified that the developers are “consistently examining” the moderation mechanism to ensure that there is a clear separation between disparaging language and some constructive trash talk.

However, despite a wild claim of supporting this aspect, there has been no serious implementation to stop randomly banning players. We hope Activision will look into this matter with utmost priority or players are going to leave the game sooner or later.
