Borderlands 4’s Horrors Of Kairos Halloween Event Is Just An Orange Filter Which Has Left Fans Utterly Disappointed

Aside from performance issues, players were baffled with the game’s UI, which made it harder to sift through weapons and loadouts. The open world was not so open thanks to the many invisible walls. While all that could be looked past, the recent Horrors of Kairos Halloween event has really annoyed players.

Borderlands 4 Players Hate Horrors Of Kairos

The event went live yesterday, adding a Halloween makeover to Kairos. Among the offerings were new skins, a legendary weapon and grenade, and a seasonal weather variant. However, while Gearbox did make the offerings clear, fans couldn’t believe just how little the event entailed.

Fans are shocked at how little the event has offered, with some even worried about what the future of the game will look like if this is the trend. Even Borderlands creator Moxsy tweeted, “Gonna be brutally honest this Halloween “Event” is not it. Very underwhelmed. I know its just a mini event but compared to what we had in BL3 it’s a huge step down. BL3 added a new unique area, unique boss, and new loot and anointments. This event is over in 2 seconds, no unique enemies and underwhelming loot. Unfortunate.”

Others on Reddit said that Gearbox hyped the event up despite it just being a few skins and weapons. Perhaps if the devs communicated it in the correct manner, the backlash wouldn’t have been so strong. It was a “mini” event, but the word ‘event’ suggests something would be happening. This was more akin to a loot and cosmetic drop.

Horrors of Kairos was likely hyped up to keep players engaged till new content comes to the game. However, the communication has left some bitterly disappointed.

Despite Randy Pitchford’s online weirdness, Gearbox knocked it out of the park with Borderlands 4. Not only has it got great reviews, but it has also performed well in terms of sales, topping U.S. charts and becoming one of the year’s best selling games. However, the game did have its fair share of problems.
