This most recent installment in the Netflix series saw its characters go through an even more difficult time than usual, as all of Georgia’s secrets were brought to light for everyone to see. Naturally, the community in Wellsbury wasn’t thrilled to learn that their mayor’s wife (mayoress, as Georgia likes to say) may have been a serial killer. Since Georgia is someone who is used to being adored and worshiped, it was an uncomfortable change.

One of the more disturbing reactions to Georgia’s alleged status as a killer in Ginny & Georgia season 3 was a brick thrown through her window with the word “murderer” scrawled across it. By this point, Georgia was already all alone in her home, since Paul had decided to leave her, and Ginny and Austin were removed by Child Protective Services and placed with their fathers. In the final episode of Ginny & Georgia season 3, it’s revealed that the publicity surrounding Georgia’s trial allowed her mom and stepfather to find her home in Wellsbury. In previous seasons, it was revealed that Georgia’s mother was an addict who became extremely neglectful of her children. The woman’s husband was therefore able to freely mistreat Georgia, who was subjected to both physical and sexual abuse from her stepfather. She ran away as a teenager and only returned once in an attempt to get even with her stepfather. Aside from that, Georgia has tried to stay out of their reach.

Georgia’s biological father called from prison in Ginny & Georgia season 3 to warn her that if he could find her, her other parents could as well. His claim was confirmed in the season finale when Georgia’s mother and stepfather were seen driving by her house. Precisely how long they have known where their daughter is is unclear. The instance we see on screen may have been their first time driving down this street in Wellsbury. However, it’s also possible that Georgia’s parents have been keeping watch on the property, which makes them a suspect in the season 3 brick-throwing incident.

Add in the fact that Georgia really left an impact the last time she saw her mom and stepfather, and this duo may be looking to do some damage.

Though anyone in Wellsbury could have thrown the brick, it would make some sense if the vandalism had been done by Georgia’s mom and stepdad. Given Georgia’s current situation, they likely assumed that she has an excess of money, and they could have come around hoping to lay claim to some (just as Georgia’s sister did previously in Ginny & Georgia). As previously mentioned, this all could be an attempt to get some money to feed their addictions. However, Georgia’s mom and stepdad could consider all of this an act of revenge. After “Mary” ran away and learned a few things from her motorcycle-gang friends, she returned to her childhood home and threatened her stepdad with a gun. Her mother seemed certain that Georgia was going to kill her stepfather, but she was only able to shoot the man in the hand.

When we see Georgia’s stepfather in Ginny & Georgia season 3, he is watching his stepdaughter on TV during her murder trial, and it’s clear that his hand is virtually unusable. Such a man is unlikely to consider his disfigured limb a consequence for his years of abuse, so he is sure to want to get even with Georgia. Throwing a brick through the window may have only been the first step in what he sees as leveling the score.

The Mayoress Murderess has gotten away with her crimes and is more popular in Wellsbury than ever, but this could all come crashing down if her past collides with her present. Georgia’s childhood abusers have the power to turn her life upside down, and this will be especially dangerous considering her pregnancy and attempts to be a better person. Add in the fact that Georgia’s mom and stepdad may have been the ones to throw the brick, and this all gets even more interesting.

What’s more, the fact that they had accused her of being a murderer implies that they know even more about Georgia’s crimes than we, the audience, do.
